WM which website do you prefer to buy from please and does the zinc get on the nappies in the wash if you're using a washable liner?

My NB MCNs were microfleece lined and were great. I love my microfleece covers as well. My favourite inserts are the BBH bamboo ones though. Those never die and absorb heaps.

Lol ladylove I'm obsessed with my MCNs as well! Although I must admit I love the minky covers, so soft and cuddly.....

For those using creams on angry nappy rash one of the best I've found for open weeping sores is Bepanthen antiseptic nappy cream, it really helps heal the sores fast. Other than that zinc creams like sudocreme and curash cream are what I used to use. Baby K hasn't had a rash since switching to cloth.

if I had used cloth for all my others they probably wouldn't have had so many rashes either. In fact the only times Baby K has had anything close to a rash was after wearing a pocket nappy (synthetic materials). At home we use BBH bamboo fitted and I've been using BBH Magic-Alls when out and about. Love love love bamboo! Anyway must go fold nappies then off to bed!

DD only gets a rash around teething times. We use Burt's Bees and it is wonderful.

Chrispe, I thought you shouldn't use Bepanthen or the zinc-based creams with cloth?

That's correct Pholi, a couple of ladies were talking about using the micro fleece liners while needing to use nappy cream on a rash so I figured if they are using cream anyway I'd suggest something that would help heal the rash quicker.

I haven't had to use nappy cream on Baby Ks bum since starting cloth. In fact I've had to put it in his neck folds more than his bum!

Hmm... I would do my utmost to avoid anything that's going to gum up my nappies, even though I use a liner. With DS's latest bout, the rash was literally everywhere the nappy touched - across his lower belly, all over both bum cheeks, around the outside of his hips where the sides of the nappy wrap around... For us, a liner wouldn't do a thing to keep cream off the nappy. We've been using Magic Stick, which is cloth-friendly. I'd love to have another alternative, though.

we tried everything cloth friendly first. but wasnt working so then used zinc as a last resort

Yes unfortunately for cloth nappy users zinc is often a better option because while non-zinc or non-barrier creams may sooth or start to heal, because baby is weeing/pooing/has wetness against their skin, they often need some sort of barrier product or the wetness just takes off the lotion/cream- it can't do much if it doesn't stay on the skin.

I'm starting to see my Burt's Bees on my MCNs even with a flushable liner so I think I'll look into the microfleece.

Just out of curiosity those babies with rashes what type of MCN are you using?

One lady I met on the buy/sell/swap group had to change her whole stash from pocket nappies to bamboo or organic cotton because they discovered the rash her baby got was an allergy to the synthetic linings. So basically she had a lot of expensive BBH Magic-Alls she had to sell, then buy the bamboo or hemp fitted and covers.

we use dragonfly magics and bbh. she does occasionally get a rash with thebbbh butbits different to the angry blister rash. its more red pimples and goes away with next nappy change.

Mine are all GroVia hybrids, but I have half 100% cotton, and half hemp with a microfleece stay-dry liner sewn-in. Theoretically, the stay-dry ones should be better but when DS had his teething nappy rash, it made no difference which ones he was in. But then, we also use a flushable liner.

What other products are meant to be designed for use with mcns? Is the Burts Bees ones meant to be ok? Moogoo?
