hi! Spock has a problem with her bum...but I have comprimised and said I will buy 1 box of disposables and use them for a week. they are disgusting! the smell and I can hear the plastic when she walks and her pants keep falling down cause there is no cute fluffy bum to hold them up =(
I got sone 2nd hand covers! but can't use them yet =(
but just wanted to add...DH who wasn't convinced for so long about mcns and still on occasion thought disposables were better is a full convert now. after using these poxy things he and I quote "I now know why we use those other ones, these are horrible! "
What are you using on it, TT? If DD2 gets bad (has happened once) I used the MooGoo nappy balm and sposies for a day, seemed to clear it up. She's got a couple of sore spots atm thanks to a lot of extra pooing (eating heaps of food). So far keeping it under control with paw paw.
Ah poor Spock. Good chance to strip wash and completely sun/air your stash though. If there's anything nasty, you might need to do it anyway. Hope it's resolved soon.
I can't believe your rash journey TT. I have no idea what else to suggest. Have you given coconut oil a go? In the sposies?
I've been sending a few nappies to the compost :O We have used them to death, so off they go. I have one that I guesstimate has had 200+ uses, and it's only the inserts that are starting to look a little bit tired. I'm pretty proud of my stash, it has served me well. And the timing is perfect, we're winding back now that it's just one in full time cloth.
hi Chrispe. thanks for thinking of my little one. I used the disposables for a week and no signs of anything getting better so im back to mcns. still the same...
DD2 has a small lesion still healing, thanks to all the massive poos she keeps doing. She cut back her bfs and upped her solids intake enormously, and oh boy, it's tripled her dirty nappies! As fast as I can get it off her (she comes to me and says 'poo' ), the ones she does at nap time are just too much for her poor little bottom. But almost healed now.
DD's rash has come back- she despises change time because it hurts her so much to clean her bottom. She always gets a nasty teething rash but this one had been on again off again for weeks and comes back with a vengeance if she dirties her nappy- little pimple little sores that bleed. Jen I wish she'd tell me when she has a dirty nappy!

Looking into buying some bamboo fabric to make bum washcloths to use on DD for nappy changes. One of mums friends has an overlocker and can sew them for us.
What type of bamboo is good for a washcloth please? I've got some super soft cushie tushie ones but they're too expensive to buy a huge stash of.
Does spotlight stock the right stuff? Any online store recommendations?
WOHB hot pink itti tutto with bamboo flushable liner.
TIA
I think it's called bamboo terry towelling material that is really soft. I was going to make bibs from it, but didn't eventuate. SIL found the material very soft and decided to make cloth wipes with it. It's like a very soft towel material. You can get it from snaps australia.
