I just use the kite fold, works pretty well...DH uses this one that makes a pad in the middle, also good. I actually fell in love with the idea of flats, they were also on my bum as a babe

Are you using microfibre liners like suggested?
Not atm because I need to go out and get some microfibre fleece to make my liners. At the moment I'm either just putting in a liner out of the few MCN's I have, or I get a Terry facewasher and fold that into a pad and use that.

How often do you have to change her and do you use cloth at night?
No I'm not quite up to using cloth at night, we will once we get better covers and liners. Also, going out we still use a sposie. Isla is a bug drinker, I change her every 1-2 hours, usually 1.5. Obviously with sposies she went longer.

Also did you just buy the plastic pilchers?
Yep, but I know they're not ideal, I'll be getting some nice covers soon. At the moment though the pilchers are fine, and I make sure to give her a little nappy free time between changes too.

and lastly how much did it cost you to get set up for the flats?
Well we already had about a dozen terry flats that we used as multipurpose, for burping etc...we bought a few packs of pilchers to see us through ($8 maybe?) a 3 pack of snappi's ($10) and a dozen flats ($20) so about $38 so far We need at least another 12 pack of flats for the amount of changes she has a day, especially when we go full time, so another $40 for that....no idea how many covers we'll need or how much they will be...but I figure we're still saving stacks on the disposables!
