I worked this out a while back: including all the fitteds, AIOs, flats, covers and materials for making my own (incl wipes), we've probably spent around $900. Though we don't use the flats anymore, including those we easily have enough for 5+ days of use.
We've been in cloth since around 1 week and only one kid so far, but hoping they'll last for another.
We use only a tiny bit of detergent and are only washing every two days at the moment. I use the dryer ocasionally if things haven't quite dried.

if I was responsible about it... I would have brought 25 OSFM BBH and some covers, wouldn't have spent more than say $700...
BUT
Ash has 130 nappies... he's HAD more, we've onsold a lot, and I can't help it!
I use the drier all the time because im lazy. If I was responsible I wouldn't and would line dry. In summer I DO line dry, in Winter it's just so much effort.
I have no idea how much I've spent so far but I'm not done. Got some great bargains at the baby expo $20 per nappy for itti bitti's and BBH magicalls. I keep telling DH it's fine bc we can use them for the next baby too but then I keep buying pretty pink ones so I probably won't if we have a boy next lol.
hun you have a package coming soon with a whole lot of nappies, some good conditions, others used a LOT, but they are sitting here not getting used.
mmmmmmmmmmmm
bad question
i have spent loads and loads prob in the region of $2000![]()
How much have you spent is (I think) a question relative to the person's budget and also passion for nappies. It's like asking how much have you spent on clothes - one person might give you the bare minimum because they buy hard wearing staples and flog the death out of them, and another might give you a high amount because they buy the pretty things and the new things, things that aren't necessary but fun and beautiful.
For us, I don't know, maybe about $900 - $1000 for two in cloth. That's mostly staples with a few 'oooh I want it' nappies in there. The thing that really annoys me at the moment is that with food issues (= toddler slops that I refuse to deal with on cloth), we're buying sposies and spending even more! Argh!
I have spent about $300 and I don't have a baby yet to try them on! But thanks to sales and buying some second hand I have ended up with about 20 nappies, mostly AIOs, which I think is not too bad. I am not buying any more now until I have the baby but I have got a pretty good amount for starters I think and will combine with sposies if I have to until we work out what brand/type of nappy works best.
