Talking Dipping my toe in and need your advice!....

Have convinced DH we should at least try MCN and I'm a bit excited! Just hope I can keep up with the washing really - that's my main concern.

Ok am thinking AIO's or fitteds that don't need a cover to begin with - am getting 4 to try!

What 4 nappies would you recommend! So far I think I might get:

    One green kids
    One BG
I like the Itti bitti d'lish too but they are sized and he won't last too long in small and won't fit the med yet.

and the rest is up to you to convince me my friends! I would prefer ones that are OSFM too - maybe that's narrowing it too much! There are so many out there!!
    TIA

    Wild child
    Itti
    Mirabai
    Bizy Bee
Cute Tooshies Bamboo delights (one size fits most)
    Baby Beehinds Bamboo
    Baby Beehinds minky MA

How exciting!! TBH the washing isn't that big a deal! I put on ONE load of nappies from the day on before I go to bed and in the morning, while the boys are eating breaky they go out on the line It's really THAT easy!
Also, buyforbaby is good for buying nappies!! I reccomend buying some second hand first to see if you like the fit on your baby before spending the big $ I brought a LOT of nappies off there to see if I liked them, some I didn't and others I loved and brought more new!
Keep in mind that not all babies can use some linings. Ashton is allergic to synthetic lining, so can only have cotton, bamboo or hemp. Most of my stash is fleece, suedecloth, etc so we use liners to stop him getting a rash.
A good cover is SO important with fitteds!! Nothing will turn you off more than a big leak from a crappy cover Baby beehinds pul covers are fab, as are Mother ease rikki covers, Bummis ones too! They are the only 3 I have used We love woolies here!! Soakers, longies, shorties, are the best covers over a fitted for us, we havent had a leak yet!!
    Goodluck and have fun buying!!

I have a few different one's, but my faves are itti d'lish's and Baby beehinds fitted with a cover (Maz's are great) and wildchilds. I don't tend to use my velcro ones anymore cause Angus takes them straight off!! Have fun shopping!!

    Yayyy tan woot!!!

You may be surprised about the fit of the ittis - DD has been in the mediums for ages now - on the smallest setting of course - and DS can still fit into them too - on the largest setting (he wears larges too)

DD can fit into both the small and the medium and DS can fit into the medium and large - so they are quite good with their sizing. Of course it totally depends on the shape of your kids - mine are slim hipped, so thats why i can get away with it

Ummm... BumG's are good - their AIO's dont take too long to dry either.. but they are sized ...

You're just like me Tan! I love variety in my stash

I know I'm jumping in a bit late here but if you get 6 - 8 then you will have enough for a full day in cloth. You can do a day in cloth then a sposie day while they dry.
I started out that way and it didn't take long for me to get used to the washing. I went to buy a box of sposies and was working out what cloth I could buy instead for the money

    Yayyyy tan!!!!!! wooooot!!!

I have most of the ones on your wish list in my stash here - if you wanted to try some before you buy - I can send some down for you to try on the kids - make sure that they suit before you spend money? Just an offer anyhoo.

I don't have peapods (was scared off by the bad reviews) and berry plush - i did have one but got rid of it because it didn't suit the kids. Oh and I don't have the funtimes with GK - I have the minky times... mmMMMMmmm..... minky times...

Oh Tan, you're gonna love it! I love variety too My faves are BG pocket, GK anytime, itti bitti dlish, and new style magicalls. For home I use BBH with covers, and flats with covers, they both work super well for us, and make the whole washing/drying thing easier. I tend to save alot of my pockets/AIOs for when we're going out, as they're easier to cart around. But start slowly, don't freak yourself out. It won't be long before you're loving it! And hey, if you decide it's not for you, then I think I might know someone who would be interested in buying your nappies

Thanks Sam! Didn't think of that - when I get this lot and DH see's how great they are I think we will build up from there! I was pushing it getting an order in before Xmas as it was! I love so many of them and I know they may not work but I want to try lots before I buy lots of one type!!!

One more question for you all! The GK inserts are all sold out - can I use a different insert for it??

The BumG inserts fit alright in there. It is usually best to go with their own inserts though - the fit is perfect, whereas other brands usually aren't and you may get leaks.

Oh - try ozebaby - green kids has a store on there that usually sell seconds

Tan, I LOVE the GK inserts, so if it were me I'd look around for some elsewhere.
