Little Squirt - toilet attachment to wash nappies off. Any good? Is it worth it?

Hi Ive seen these advertised a bit and was wondering if many people had them? And if you thought they were a good investment?

Yes, yes & yes. And then yes again.

If you're using cloth or sposies, all poo should go down the loo. And the options to get rid of poo are to scrape it off, use a liner, or to rinse it off. Scraping is gross IMO (I used to scrape) and messy, whereas rinsing it off not only is easier, straight into the loo, but also dilutes the urine in the nappy and saves your nappies. Plus keeps the smell down!

Doesn't water squirt everywhere though? Seen them, but always thought I would end up with poo up the walls

So worth it!!!! There is a little knack to it to not spray water everywhere but just follow the instructions, basically you don't squirt the sh$t out of the hose (no pun intended

), just be gentle wth the flow you use just enough pressure to get rid of the poo.
It makes life so much easier!!

Put the nappy low in the toilet bowl and gently press the trigger ... it just takes practice. Like 5 mins worth

I love my little squirt. It does take a little practise to get the right angle. I have had poo on the walls several times - but it wipes off pretty easily lol! IMO liners don't work. I use them for DS for daycare and most times the majority of the poo ends up on the nappy anyway.

I love my LS - was grateful when my dad could manage to install it for us (tight nuts/tap thingy on the pipe to the loo) made things easy (DH & I aren't the most handyperson people - me more than DH but I couldn't do this one). I find it helps stop my nappies staining quite so much - the more poop I squirt off the less stain I have afterwards. And I still have to occasional splash back when I don't quite get the nappy low enough in the loo from where the poop is.

Actually TBH I was more concerned in showering myself in it let alone the walls

Kazbah - Gross! Yep I dont think the whole scraping it off thing is for me either lol.

I have one.... but have never used it. DP refused to attach it to the loo and I couldn't get the taps undone to do it myself. Will probably sell it during the garage sale anyway.

Back to the question though, they would be SOOOO much easier than the other options lol.

Lissy, I sent you a PM with a link for the nappy hunt. It's basically a treasure hunt for an icon on websites that are run by WAHMs. It's mostly nappy sites but also other things like kids clothes, rocky road, jewellery. It's designed to get some exposure for these websites and to have some fun at the same time. Most sites offer discounts of sorts so it's great value. It starts on 1st of march & runs for a month.

. I agree the liners are pretty much useless...I use to find I'd still have to little squirt the nappy anyway

I think the key to getting the poo off the easiest is to try (obviously not possible if your out or they are at daycare) to little squirt them immediately after change....it comes off the nappy easier and therefore less splash back

And yeah...I have also showered myself in it a couple of times...even now and I believe I am somewhat an expert little squirter (I've used it at least once, sometimes 2 and 3 times a day for the last 18months)...some poo's are just messy (and our toilet bowl is not that deep). The main thing is to remember....always, always close your mouth!!!!

bec I'm sure that tip will be very handy Hehe. Ok I so want one now. I've been told to dry bucket my mcns so does this still work if you've wet them with the LS? Or do you need to wash fairly soon after??

The LS doesn't wet them that much so dry bucketing still works - you do need to wash every day or 2 anyway

If my toilet could take a LS then I would still be using it. Very handy and I'm a scraper at the moment and I know what I prefer.

However, it was hard on my back leaning over the toilet cleaning the nappies - but I have a bad back anyway.

I ALWAYS close my mouth JIC. I think it goes on my very short list of worst fears copping poo splashback in the mouth!
