That's how I do it too, but with 2-3 rinses and teatree/lavender/eucalyptus in the final rinse. Then hang them outside.

Have to agree with berrme their wee force is something else. DS can often wee straight out the leg of well fitting nappies....very frustrating. I used to fold the BGs at the front and then fold the NB insert in half and position that right at the front. I never used only a single insert with him.
Lots of bamboo boosting under the microfibre helped too.
