I'm going to buy some of that Moogoo Soothing Cream - sounds awesome as we'll be using MCNs too. I bought the Full Cream Moogoo cream and use it on my belly (stretch marks get itchy)
and i love it!!!!![]()
Nope. Thats a barrier cream - so the cream gets stuck in the fibres of the material, clogs it up and the absorbency of the material suffers. Last time daycare used a nappy cream like that on one of DS's nappys - apart from me going ballistic - I had to soak it in quite warm water and scrub with a toothbrush to remove it from the fibres so it would work properly again.
So yeah - stay away from the barrier creams.

Couldnt resist and ordered some of the MSM and scalp cream.
Is it safe to use on 7mth olds?
I'd say so. I've been using both on DD and DS.
I wonder if the people at Moo Goo are curious as to why they are having a surge in sales. I've just being ordering some too!![]()
hehehe
I talked a shop here (The Nappy Lady) into stocking it. She sold out of the stock she ordered in just over a week!
lol.. its all your fault Kaz
The shop that stocks them up here on the sunny coast actually sells them cheaper than the website![]()
yeah I think Arimeh should get a cut!
I bought a few things on friday and it all got delivered yesterday, plus a little reebie to try. So far so good......
(DH has always had problems with his scalp (dermatitis), nothing works... so got him the shampoo, conditioner and scalp cream..... if this does work it really will be a miracle after years of trying everything else. And got the bum cream for the impending little arrival, lip balm is great too!)
We use it all the time and I haven't noticed a problem. Will look a little bit closer.Nope. Yeah I love the lip balm - have that too!!!!!
Krys - if you haven't had a problem thats great - you may not be spreading heaps on like other people do - ie - my daycare!!!!
Mel - Moogoo is cheaper in my local chemist than on the website toohehe

Ren.. hehehehehe
Sudocream certainly doesn't agree with my nappies. It clogs up in the nappy and is really, really hard to get out. Then nappy is not as absorbent. I had to strip wash and scrub my nappies and still i didn't get it all out, i can see it in the nappy. I wont be making that mistake again! Moogoo all the way here too.
I think the general rule is no oil based creams with MCN.
The Moogoo has been amazing on Kane!!!!
In less than 24hrs, he only has a red tipped penis, all the rest has gone from his testicles and leg creases!!!
I ask now if he wants a massage, and he lays down, spreads his legs, and hands me the moogoo.........TOO cute!!!![]()
hehehe. One of pip's first words was "moogoo" !
Glad its workign for you![]()
Don't know if it will help you but when DS had a similar problem I used Lucas Paw Paw Ointment, worked a treat but is very sticky. I just cut up an old flannel nappy and used strips of that as an insert in his cloth nappy. They washed out ok after a soak and a hot wash.
That's interesting Ali, I wouldn't have expected that with Bepanthen. Pure lanolin is a bugger to get out of anything because it is so greasy (being wool fat and all), surfactants don't lift it easily. It may use a low concentration of lanolin in a water base, or use a really good emulsifier. I use Bepanthen occasionally but always use liners. But maybe I don't need to be so concerned.
Sudocream is perhaps the worst of the lot for attaching itself to nappies. It is evil to MCNs, but so far it's the only thing that budges really bad rash on my lad.
I've just ordered moo goo today, we don't have a local stockist so had to order online.
ETA: Macca - Lucas Paw Paw has a petrochemical base, Simmons Paw Paw salve (in the yellow tube or tub) does not. It looks and feels identical, but doesn't use petrochemicals!
looks like i might have to stock up on moogoo pre-gremlin!
a quick question - in another thread, there was a lot of mention of gaia products being natural and good for bub as far as bathing and stuff - i noticed on their website that they also have a soothing lotion - is this one good or bad with MCN's? i'm asking early as my mum has hinted that she'd like to do a basket of all lotions and stuff, but she knows my skin is sensitive and that i fear bub may be the same, so she keeps asking which products i want to use...
