Reusable wipes tips and advice

i use cloth wpes at home, just put warm water in a small dish and wet as i need them. use disposable ones when im out.

Babyluv, I use the itti wet bag and it is awesome!!! NO leaks and no smell... they are $18.95 but mums little outlet (the link I posted on fb) has 25% off? They are worth it!!!
I have a tutto and a wetbag (I bought 2) in my nappy bag and use cloth while out. It is just as easy as sposies really, I just have to remember to take out the dirty nappy to wash and replace it with a clean one.

another alternative, is to carry a small spray bottle filled with water, and spray the wipe you're about to use, WHEN you need to use it. Or if it's a really stick poo mess you're cleaning up, you could spray your bub's bottom with water too, if you're having trouble getting the wipe wet enough.

I was advised to use fabric that has loops in it, to "grab" the poo - so my fave wipes were bamboo terry, hemp terry, cotton terry - as these were LOOPY fabrics, not SMOOTH fabrics like flannelette (which is great for patting dry by the way).

Cos esp when you're out, it's the ability to clean up pooey bottoms easily, that you will be most glad about. If you're caught out (not enough wipes in bag etc), you CAN get away with not wiping a wee bottom, but NOT a poo bottom.

i used to take the wetbag (with the used nappies and wipes) to the loo when i got home, and use the Little Squirt on the wipes and the nappies, before putting the used wipes and used nappies in the nappy pail (ready for next wash load). I found it alot easier to PREVENT stains (by using the LS before the machine wash), cos the longer poo is ON the wipe or nappy, the more time it has to stain.

when pregnant, i could not imagine using MCN when out of the home, but after the first outing, armed with the tips read online, it worked just fine, and i thought "easy, i'll keep on doing this, why was i so worried?". The key is to be prepared, have enough with you - spare bag of mcn and wipes in the car was helpful to me.

The Planetwise wet/dry bags are awesome. One pocket for clean nappies and the other for dirty ones- you can carry whole days worth in one go.

yep, that worked out to be our fave combo too, loopy on one side, smooth on the other.

i eventually found the little spray bottles at a chemist, who sold travel sized plastic spray bottles, like for toiletries. very inexpensive.
