A nappy bucket is a great start
~ What to use to wash nappies: If you're using mcn (modern cloth nappies) than you don't use anything except your laundry detergent. So nappy san or anything similar, it will ruin your nappies.
Secondly, you need to work out what sort of nappy supply you want, and what will work best for your situation. Check out Nelle's sticky about getting started with mcn, it's very helpful for beginners.

It depends on what kind of system of nappies you are wanting to do. Like, if you want to go old school with flats and covers, or if you want to move into the more modern cloth like all-in-ones, fitted nappies (which need covers) or pocket style nappies.

Once you determine which kind of system you would prefer to be doing - then you'll know what kind of questions you need to ask.

Personally, we don't use flats that often in this house - easier to whack on a nappy that is prefolded into shape, rather than have to do origami in the middle of the night!!! LOL

Plus with the modern cloth nappies you don't need to soak them, just wash them like you do all your clothes. I use three nappy buckets here, but thats just to keep them in until wash day, no soaking needed

There are a few websites to check out that will help you on your "quest"... I think if you google modern cloth nappies you will come up with a few - oz cloth nappies is one I think... or modern cloth or something like that.. can't remember off the top of my head..
    Hope this helps

    LOL
thanks for the help ladies, im guessing that the MCN are easier???
i might go have a little read through the cloth nappies discussions....
the only thing im a little confused about, lol this may seem a little silly, but they seem to be alot bigger than nappies?? do NB clothes go over them ok?? or do they look bulky?

I've found shorts/skirts go over fine. Bodysuits don't quite fit unless you've put an All-In-One nappy on, as they're not as bulky as a fitted. With wondersuits, I just use the next size up.

MCN are easier than flats. I used flats when Nina was a baby, and compared to MCN, they're a PITA.

Yup i'm with Jodie about the skirts/pants bizz...

We use the all in one suits here - but they fit over because we have little fitted nappies - but if I use something at nighttime like a Baby Beehinds fitted and cover - the suit needs to be a little loose. Which they are on her, because she is long and skinny - so the suits just fit her lengthwise, but swim on her everywhere else, so there is room for the big butt.. LOL..

If you have a chubba bubba though - you may not get that extra space.. but then you can put bubs in jarmies.. thats always cute..

And FWIW - I like the bulky butt look.. lol
