I did use sposies until the meconium poos finished so I started my girls on MCNs when they were about 2 weeks old. Also I wouldn't rush out and buy heaps just yet, maybe get one or 2 of a few different brands as you may find that you don't like certain styles or that they don't suit your bubs shape ie. some nappies are better for chubby thighs and others are better for those with fewer rolls.

Yeah I reckon that'll be the way to go Nai. Looking at getting a small supply of a few different types until we work out what's good for us. Thanks

*cough cough* I had waaaaaaay over 70 for C but in my defence I refuse to use a dryer and in a Melbourne winter it can take 2-3 days for the thicker ones (such as BBB's or honeyboys) to dry. I had a permanent clothes horse set up and devoted to just nappies. I had about 40 odd for R but thankfully she was a better shape for itti's which dried quicker.

I never really counted how many newborn nappies but I had 2 doz flanny flats, 1 doz prefolds with 10 covers and about 20 odd fitteds/AIO's. Can't remember for sure but that's probably close at 56.

Like I said my preference was to have more nappies to reduce to possibility of running out and having to use the dryer

I think I tried about 4 brands before I found one that suited DD. Maybe 5. I got a couple that looked to be good value and they turned out to be crummy. Also with the sized nappies your bubs may have a smaller or wider stance. A couple seemed too wide on DD yet they had a fountain crack at the rear i mean she was imitating a plumber :P

Are the terry flats easy to use? Do you just fold them up, use a snappy and a cover? I know they'd be cheaper, but I reckon it'd be easier to go with the ones that just snap on
totally easy - either triangle or kite fold, snappy, plastic pants, done

and you can pre-fold them if it's going to be quicker
