Would you recommend flushable liners?

I'm going to be using Tots Bots and flats (flats for when just at home). Do you make your own liners??

Yes they are good for outings and also in cases of bad nappy rash where you require sticky creams. The creams help them stay in place and your nappy doesn't stain.

yes, I forgot about that, Nai makes a good point. They are very useful to use if baby has some sort of thick barrier cream or ointment on. Otherwise that stuff can be hard to get out of fabric.

I am with Bath, they have never stayed in place or end up all bunched up in ds bottom. I have a whole roll here at home and feel so bad not using them! I love the fleece ones better!

Yeah I'd recommend them. Perhaps the bunching depends on what brand you use? I'm not sure. I've used Eenees liners, cut in half, and they've been fine. I also use fleece or minky liners (if I use a liner at all), but if I suspect a poo's on the way (especially a schloppy teething poop), then I'll pop one in.

I find there's not much use in using a liner with a purely breastfed bub (poo is so runny that a liner won't contain much), but once they start solids, liners start to make a lot of sense.

I Do you make your own liners??

Yep - i just went down to spot light and bought a metre or so of fleece and cut it up...
I also made some larger squares and use them as wipes, they then all go in the wash...
May have to rethink the wipes when she starts doing more solid poo's thou as i dont think they will be that great with sticky poo's - in the hospital we just used facewashers/flannels (I NEVER use face washers in hospital - i know what i use them to wipe up )

We use natures child bioliners which are flushable. they are great and don't bunch. But DS is a pretty reliable poo'er (he's a morning person. lol!) so we only use a liner when we expect to need them IYKWIM,.

We have used them on and off, depending on what DD's poos are like! At the moment they are great, but at other times they aren't really needed.

I also found that some brands slip and slide around, but others stay in place fine. We like the bambino ones the best.

If DD's poos are horrendous, I use a m.fleece liner and a flushable one. I find the fleece protects the nappy well, and then the flushable one collects the bulk of the mess.

I'm planning a trip to spotlight for some fleece to make liners.

But flushable ones sound like a good idea for day trips. Where do you buy them?

Lots of places, I've bought mine at Nurture Nappies, the Wee Wuns and Darlings Downunder, and they're in a local health food store too. I mostly use Eenees brand.
