Car seats for reflux babies

Hi all,

Just found the forum. Its been really helpful. I've got a newly diagnosed reflux DS who is 10 weeks old.

We are returning the safe and sound (hired) soon. DS has hated it from day 1 and just screams and screams. I wondered if there were any particular car seats that were available that didnt aggravate reflux babies?

Any info would be helpful. It would be good to go for a drive longer than 10 minutes.

I'm afraid there isn't - babies need to be in a rearward facing position to 12mths of age optimally, and that's in a semi reclined position. All carseats will be like that. My youngest had reflux and travel was awful because he would just throw up every time he was put in the car. I found it best to try to feed him a fair while before you had to go anywhere, so the previous feed was digested enough that he didn't throw it up. Is he on medication for the reflux? maybe giving him his medication will stop some of the milk rising in his throat and causing the burning/painful sensation.
