Chiro for babies with reflux and colic?

    Hey everyone.

Miss Amelia has the worst colicy pains ever and she also has pretty severe reflux. She screams from around 6pm until about 10 or 11pm no matter what position I have her in etc.

I was wondering if chiro would help her at all? Even just to ease the symptoms and hopefully have a good effect on sleep etc.

Anyone have any success stories? Or others? Really thinking about booking her in.

Chiro is great for babies. DD1 saw an excellent kids chiro in Cottesloe for a few months to help with reflux and sleep issues. She also had an awfully stiff neck from her delivery (posterior and vacuum) and they sorted that out in no time. I'd highly recommend it.

Would recommend it, ds was colicky and on meds for reflux. He had so much trouble pooing. At his first treatment he relaxed and pooed straight away and went to sleep! He had about 4 treatments, even dh couldn't believe the difference and he was very skeptical.

I would recommend Acupuncture over Chiro. But then some prefer chiro so it's personal thing.

I took DS1 to an Osteopath for Reflux, it helped he was medicated as well but it made him a happier baby.

I'm so glad it worked for him. Hopefully it helps miss A she is so constipated.

Thinking I may book her in

What kind of things does acupuncture help with?

Do you go to a special chiro for babies? What does an osteopath do? Im interested too as my bubba is suffering as well.

We've had great experience with Chiro for DD. she was colicky earlier on. Whenever she gets a bit too unsettled off to the Chiro she goes & you can see the difference.

I took DD1 to a fantastic chiro, but she is down in Australind so I'm sure there are some more convenient.

Sweetpeajan - yep. Definitely get a chiro who specialises in bubs. I'm sure some of the Melbourne mums can give you some referrals.

Mine isn't a specialist for babies but they are experienced in babies. Different style from normal Chiro. Pm
Me if you want details. They're in the city.

We took DS1 at 9 months old and I really wished I had done it sooner, after just ONE adjustment he was a different baby! He had severe colic and reflux and was also constipated and screamed for hours and hours and hours everyday, nothing I did helped. I was very sceptical on taking him to a chiro, but it really was the best thing for him.

EarlyKids that's good to hear that it did something after just one adjustment. Isn't it horrible seeing your bub in so much pain hoping chiro does something. Hoping they have an appt very soon

LysnDad - The first appointment I had for DD1 they made a space for me the next day. They heard her screaming in the background and me close to tears and took pity on me. So, don't be afraid to lay it on thick when you ring them and tell them how bad she is. Really hope they can help her quickly. Poor little poppet.

We had great success with all our babies at our paediatric chiro . My eldest DS was such an unsettled baby from birth, he was unhappy all day and would only sleep in my arms during the day. We took him to a paediatric chiro when he was 10 weeks old after a friend recommended them and it turned out that his right shoulder was dislocated from birth . No one else had picked up on it. No wonder he was so unhappy! A few trips and some gentle manipulation by the chiro made a world of difference.

Sweetpea - If you're in Melbourne, feel free to PM me and I can pass our paed chiro's details on

We took DS to an oestopath and it made a difference for his colicky symptoms and general sleep but his underlaying issue for his reflux was actually a lactose intolarance which we were able to manage with some lacteeze
    Worth a shot definately
