My MCHN recommended that I take Max to a chiro who specialises in working with infants to see if there was anything he could do to help with Max's colic and reflux, which have really become an issue. He's in pain for too much of the day, and it's changing his nature - he's a very happy baby, but spends too much time crying in pain.

I took him today for the first time, and found that he had a problem on the joints on both sides of his neck - probably caused by pressure during labour. He manipulated Max's neck and I could immediately see more movement. The reason this is relevant is that there is a nerve that runs from that neckjoint directly to the stomach, which affects spasming and vomiting. Relieving the pressure in the neck hopefully means that we will have less spewing!

The chiro thought it might take about four sessions to retrain Max's neck to stay in the proper position, but I'm very hopeful - Max is having the most peaceful sleep he has had this week at the moment, he's slept for five hours, whereas the last 48 hours he has been wanting to feed every three hours around the clock for comfort and pain relief. I'm looking forward to a better night's sleep myself!

I thought I'd put this information in here in case anyone else thinks they might consider it - apparently it is particularly relevant if your baby projectile vomits, and this can be fixed.
