Hi All,
As a first time mum, i have no idea about the time span on these things....
My DD is 4m1w and i can feel (& see) her first tooth coming through. How long does it actually take for the tooth to fully push through? is it hours, days or weeks? I figure every baby is different, but just as a general guideline???
Have ordered an Amber Teething necklace on the recommendation of so many BB members, and hope that this will help in the coming months.
So far DD hasn't been too bad - No pooey nappies yet (But she generally only does one once a week - so not really looking forward to the icky ones when they happen!!), grizzly and clingy to me and a major drool-pot.
Anyways, all your wisdom and wise words would be greatly appreciated!!
Teeth are annoying! lol they can move up and down and stop and start. my DS1 teeth always took forever to come through, they would half cut then go down then come back up a few days later.
You will see it cutting as it will have what looks like a shadow mark on the gum
Yeah as a general guideline I'd say days or weeks... Jazz has had teeth just appear and cut (ok, maybe 2 out of the 12 she now has) but mostly they have taken anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. They move up and down, sometimes they stay just below the surface for ages. it's just hard to tell.
Doog on you for getting an Amber necklace, they made molars SO much easier! They took ages but we barely noticed they were coming!
Generally my DS's take a couple of weeks from the time we start to see them. After about a week you start to see the skin breaking and then it takes about another week before they actually pop through. Mind you like others have said they can move up and down for awhile...
You will find that the teething necklace helps. I also like Brauers Teething relief, it's homeopathic so doesn't have anything nasty in it. I find that between that and the necklace we rarely need to give him any nurofen.
