    Hylands Teething tablets

DOes anyone know when these are predicted to come back on the market? Local chemist doesn't know and I can only really find American infor on them which doesn't necessarily relate to Aust.
    Cheers

I'm not sure but we'll be staying well clear of them. Didn't they recall them as they had caused blood poisining in kids in the States?

I would not think that they would have recalled them hear as we are a different governing body to the states?

This is from their website Hyland's Teething Tablets Safety Information | Belladonna

Hope they come back soon they were fab and I am nearly out!

    That article is from 2007.

I just checked the text message from my friend in my mum's group - she was told by her pharmacist early in Jan (2011) that they had been recalled here because a study in the States showed they had caused blood poisoning in children.

We all love them too but we promptly binned our supplies when we found that out.

Here's the info for the States: http://www.hylands.com/news/hylands-teething-recall.php I haven't read it yet but it explains why they recalled it over there. Doesn't explain if they recalled here or why it's not available but you would hope the pharmacist my friend saw told the truth. Off to google a bit more!

This was in an Adelaide news article in October 2010 when they were recalled in the States:

A TGA spokeswoman said the tablets used to be listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods but they no longer are, so the TGA cannot guarantee their safety.

"Consumers should be aware of this," she said yesterday

The ones in the US were recalled because they contained Belladonna.
Nasty stuff really, and no way I would give it to my kids.

Not sure what the ingredients are for Australia, your best bet would be contacting the manufacturer here.
