OMG, Is this normal? Is this cross cutting?

My 15 month old girl didn't get her first tooth until she was 11 months old. And up until lately, she still only had the front 4 teeth (top 2, bottom 2). Lately she has been really upset and whingy, and both her eye teeth have just started to break through her gums, so I put it down to teething. But today when she was having a little tantrum, I noticed some very white patches at the back of her jaw on the sides. I had a closer look than feel, to only discover that her molar teeth at the top, are already down. Not the whole teeth just the sides of them. No wonder she has been a little upset

Is this normal? Should I be worried at all? I know all kids are different, but this just seems a little odd to me!!!!!!!!! Is this what is called cross cutting?

    Hi mel!

Cross cutting is when teeth come out of their normal order. Sarah had all her 1st molars b4 her bottom 2nd teeth. she has 4 top n bottom plus 4 molars now the canines should b her next ones. Molars hurt more than the other teeth. there is nothing wrong with cross cutting but it can make it harder 4 the teeth 2 find room.

Normal order is front 8 (4 top 4 bottom), 1st molars, canines, 2nd molars.

Smee's just getting her top 1st molars (got the front 8 already ) and the outside edges are through but the rest isn't...is that what you mean? I think they just take a while to errupt and come slowly (otherwise there'd be flapping bits of gum...?).

Jack was a cross-teether too - he looked so funny for a while, at one stage he had his eye teeth, some molars, and all but one of his front teeth - that last bottom one can up way after the molars. It apparently runs in DH's family. So far Tom's have been in order though - he must have got the sensible genes LOL!!
