    So is SM33 safe for bubbies then?
    Chemist recommended it to me a loooong time ago. Cant remember but DD would have been been between 12 and 18 months. She didnt cut a tooth for 6 months after she started showing teething 'signs'. We have used tubes and tubes of it, nothing else worked here.

    ETA: Guess that didnt really answer the question though, did it!

    Well, it depends on your definition of safe
    They contain artificial sweetners which are carcinogenic. Also salycilic acid, which is similar to the ingredient in aspirin, which is not considered safe as there is a theoretical risk of reye's syndrome if your child consumes it at the same time as having a viral infection.
    sm33 also contains ethanol.

    but, it is marketed for baby's teething, yes.
