Silent Reflux OR Colic???

Hi, my baby son is 5 weeks, first one. The last 2 weeks he has had a lot of wind down below. He gets his burps up fine but is continually does pop offs all day!! He is getting worse, have tried Infacol drops, massage, Bowen, warm baths, cycling the legs . Not sure what ealse. MCHN asked today does he have Silent Reflux? He is arching his back, crys for no reason, wakes up from sleeps crying, he is continually pushing, pulls his knees up. Has anyone any advice?

You have described word for word what our son was like when he was very young.



I know how difficult things must be for you, so big hugs to you.

I think it is good if you can find a GP who is on side (which we didn't have).

I don't have any specific advice - we eventually put him on Zantac when he was 4 or 5 months old and he grew out of the reflux at about 11 months.

I found he slept better and was more comfortable while wearing him in a bubba moe sling.

There is also a great site called fussy and high needs babies (pm me if you can't find it on google).

Eventually his unexplained crying peaked at about 16 - 18 weeks and subsided on its own after a while. After tha we were just managing the symptoms of the reflux which was much easier.
