Sophie the giraffe

Who has a sophie the giraffe teether? DS had a hard time cutting teeth one and two even with his amber necklace and bonjela. He's now cutting his two top teeth and once again turned into a huge grumpy pants. Is Sophie a good investment?

Cute investment but she didn't really get used so much for teething, I found risks and those plastic rings were gummed more than her.....still gets played with now though!!!!

DD loves her Sophie, she loves chewing on her legs. We also have the teether one aswell and she loves that. We take Sophie everywhere.

...sorry this might be off topic... But i looked after a little girl who had a giraffe called sophie, i didnt realise what that it was a special teether, i thought they just named it that...hmm thanks for the memory of that little girl (shes playing with the angels now).

My DD is only 7 weeks old but we have one for her waiting to be used. It's pretty popular here as we live next to France. A friend of mine has a young daughter and she swares by it, Sophie goes everywhere with them. It has brilliant reviews on Amazon (have a look at the UK site). Naturally there are some bad reviews in there, but most people seem to love it.

I was recently recommended Sophie and I must admit we love her. I brought her the same day. My DD chews on her legs also. I also love that she is so big so DD who is 16weeks has a pretty good chance of getting some part of her in her mouth as opposed to a smaller teether (plus she is big enough to find lol). Sophie is also helping her with her hand coordination I think as I give her a leg and her other hand then has started trying to grab her and as soon as she has it in both hands its straight to her mouth.

I don't really care about the squeeker just wanted something safe and softish for her to chew on. I wish I knew she existed for my 1st two. I paid $35 at the local baby shop.

Yes the smell is yucky. I'm told that will fade with age. I tried washing the rubber smell off as soon as I got her. It was a little over bearing.

Sophie is awesome, DD loves her and goes to town chewing on her legs and her little horns at the top of her head. She is 100% natural rubber so you don't have to worry. My DD will choose Sophie over her Nuby teethers, I think because she is softer. We got ours on ebay for around $24 and I saw them last week at baby bunting for $25, they can be up to $35 depending on the store you buy her from! Definitely a good investment, DD just cut her first tooth last week, Sophie & her amber necklace have been so great. Sophie goes everywhere with us. She recently came with us on a plane trip too

We love Sophie. Of all the toys, Sophie is the favourite. But toys are second to kitchen utensils and cardboard For teething we are loving frozen carrot sticks - they go nice and floppy in the freezer, but still firm and cold to gum on.

make u well has a sale on their natural latex fish teether only 4.95 a much better investment over sophie the giraffe! Also have you tried weleda teething powder it is brilliant and the healthiest option out there for teething relief. I can't believe how hard this teething picture can be and at the same time I am up with a teething baby I am playing tooth fairy and rejoicing my bigger ones losing their teeth! After all those hours of lost sleep and a few years later we are celebrating them falling out!

SOphie is a great toy but DD would NEVER use it as a teether, infact she didn't use anything to chew on. For us it was a complete waste of money.

If your LO is a chewer then I say go for it but DD turned out not to be a chewer so Sophie was only ever played with

I hate Sophie the stupid giraffe! lol there's stacks of teethers out there and I don't see what is so special about Sophie I think my disgruntled attitude comes from all the mums in my stupid mothers group talking about it like if you don't have one than you're a looser

im a cheapskate and wasnt gonna buy one but i found one for under $20 plus my 2yr old likes it more than my baby lol but i know how u feel cherished ifits not sophie its something else

i have one, but only by fluke, ds found it in the 20c toy biun at the op shop, had no idea till i googled to see what everyone was on about with "sophie"
it causes more fights then abnything to, theuy all want to play with it, and the dog wants to eat her when the squeak is set off
yet to see results as a teether, but it has been a good dummy substitute for dd2
