teething at 7 weeks?? could it be true?

My DD is 7 weeks today and for the past 3 days she has been very unsettled (out of the ordinary). She becomes clammy (sweaty cool skin) from time to time, and drools, and scunches her face in discomfort, she grumbles alot in her sleep and rubs her face as if she is in pain, and of course an increased crying/unsettled behaviour. Sometimes when she is on my boob she pushes away in discomfort only to re-latch on in desperation ( although plenty of milk is coming down so not due to lack of supply), she is feeding every 90-120min or so and only sleeping MAX 2 hours at night when I had previously seen her in a semi pattern of 3 hourly with a big sleep after 6-7pm feed. Her gums are pale and white on the top and there are two white dots on either side of back of her upper gums.

I had a look in my "what to expect..." book and the symptoms seem concurrent with teething however this is in the 5 month section of the book!

Has anyone heard of early teething? i dont want to look like an idiot going to the GP...

It's unlikely to be teething but it is possible. I know one of the ladies who had a bub around the same time that I did had her bub get a tooth at about 2 months. It's pretty rare but it does happen.

Check with your parents (both sides) as to when you got your first teeth. Apparently if you got your teeth early then your children are quite likely to do the same.

My sister had her 1st tooth at 2 weeks old. Anything is possible hun, I was going to sugest the doc. It sounded just like when Ollie had bronchitis. Poor baby, hope baby gets better soon. Stil its a great excuse not to get out of bed for afew days if you want. Just cuddle and feed and sleep together
