My DS 1 suffered with reflux till he was 2 yrs old. He was on Zoton. DS 2 is 9 weeks today and has been on losec syrup 5mg x 2 per day since about 4 weeks. About 2 wks ago his symptoms seemed to be coming back so I increased his dose to 7.5mg x2 per day. Things settled down again. Now over the last 3 or 4 days the symptoms seems to be coming back, wanting to feed all the time, cat napping during the day (even though he goes down well, he now wakes within 20 mins), thrusting his tongue, wincing in 'pain'.

Anyhow, I've now put him upto 10mg x 2 per day of losec and am giving him gaviscon in his bottle. The losec takes about 5 days to build up in the system when you start to I'm guessing that it will also take that long for it to build up to the new dose.

I'm wondering if anyone found that they actually had to swap medications to get good relief for their baby? I'm wondering if I should just put him onto Zoton.

Other question is did you increase your babies reflux dose and then get relief?

I've called the ped this morning just waiting for him to call back.
