Our DD is just over 1 week old and BF'ing and she will feed for 20-30 minutes till she is "milk drunk" (what we call it anyway) and then she'll sleep for a good 4 or 5 hours. I'm having to wake her majority of the times to feed or I think she'd sleep longer.
Anyway, during the day she is good. I can get a few good burps + many farts out of her the majority of the time but during her night feeds it seems she is having an issue. We've been unable to string together two night feeds without at least one resulting in her being restless and crying for hours, pretty much until her next feed. I've tried feeding her more and it does not appear to be a hunger issue, she is pulling her legs right up and belly is going tight so wind is what i'm suspecting. Sometimes she is letting out wind whilst other times nothing happens. She may pass wind or burp and gives her a minute or two relief but then she'll suddenly wake with a jolt and start screaming, like she has belly pain.
I have bought some Infacol but it says only from 4 weeks of age so I'm wondering if anyone can suggest something to help?? Could it be that her night feeds she is not 100% awake so not getting the wind up as easily as during the day?? If so how I can I help more, I feel helpless when she is crying like that and in obvious discomfort and I cannot help her.
