Around what age did your bub start teething? How long after the symptoms started did they cut their first tooth?
TIA

Can't help u there Hollye - as u know B is my first and thank goodness she isnt teething yet! hehehe
cant really remember to be honest, no teeth til 9 months
My MCHN said she has seen a baby cut a tooth at 4 weeks! thats just insane!!
And some babies have been born with a tooth!
People told me for months and months that Darcy was teething with all the 'symptoms' she displayed.
She didn't cut a tooth util 10 months old - and with a fortnight she had 11 more!!! I didn't notice until the 12th one came through.....
DS started "teething" (meaning the symptoms) at 4 months. Got his first at 7 months.
DD hasn't started yet at nearly 5 months
My DS is showing serious symptoms now, and has for a few weeks now. His gums are swollen and red, enough drool to fill an olympic sized swimming pool, chewing on anything coming within chomping distance of his mouth...yada yada. DD was about the same age, though didn't cut any teeth til about 5-6mths.
Thier teeth can move around for a while before they actually cut though.
we had our first tooth at 7 weeks and our last at nine months .
i found her to become irritable , and chewing on eveything which seems unusuae for a very young baby , the gums were red and swollen . and her ears went bright red , and she would tug at them . about an hour before the tooth cut there was a awful nappy . They cut and then the fun begins as they begin to oush through .
we have an allergy to panadol and found bongella useless , there was a teething power from the health food shop . a piece of frozen mango / bananna or a frozen youghurt icecube on a straw worked a treat for us .
DS showed symptoms at 3m2w. Runny bum, irritable, nappy rash, red cheeks and ear pulling. The runny bum and nappy rash disappeared after a few days and he was fine until he cut his first tooth, at 4m2w. I didnt notice it as he also got a cold at the same time. All of the older women in my life said the cold was connected to teething... I dont know about that.
The second tooth moved up and down for a couple of weeks. We could see it some days and then it would disappear again. My DH and I were flabbergasted by it moving up and down!! Tooth number 2 was finally cut at 5m1w. DS's reflux also made an appearance for a couple of days around that time.
He was 6mo on NYD and I fully excpect to see the top two within the next month.![]()
Alyssa cut her 1st tooth at 10 months and 2nd at 11 mths. She wasnt very sooky though, i didnt even notice it had come through until she bit me one day. lol
Have been drooling a truck load a day and chewing ferociously on anything and everything since 3 months still no sign of teeth though. Has days of having red cheeks and days of being really grumpy.
DS was about 3 1/2 months i think when he started to show the signs... first tooth broke through at 5 1/2 months. DD has shown signs from about the same age.. she is yet to cut a tooth but is now similar age to DS when he got his first so will be interesting to see.
I didn't suspect at all.
On NYE a friend put her finger in his mouth & said there's a tooth there. I said no there isn't, but there was. He was 6 months & 1 week old when it showed.
He'd been extremely dribbly from about 3 months onwards so there was no change in that. He had slightly pink cheeks for two days a week before the tooth showed, but he gets rashes so I didn't think anything of that. He was a little grumpy on and off, but nothing like what people tell you bubs are like when they are teething.
I knew someone that told me 2 out of 3 of her babies were born with a tooth.
I thought my DD was teething at about 4 months with loads of dribbling and alternatiing rosey checks and chewing on everything but it wasn't to be.........We didn't see a bit of tooth until she was 15months old!! and on top of that we happened to be at Tresilian Sleep school at the time when they came through so with all that going on, didn't notice any specific signs.
I also knew someone whose bub got a high temp with every cut tooth until he was about 1.5yrs old. I don't think there are any hard and fast signs with teething...every bub is different.
