    Wind pain and Infants Friend

Hi all. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on the 27th Sept 2010. She is now almost 3 weeks old, a wonderful baby except when she has wind pain and she'll cry and cry for hours especially in the evenings. Hubby and I can't settle her down no matter what we do. We tried different ways to make her comfortable as told and shown by the midwives when I was in hospital but so far nothing really works. I burp her after each feed but she still has the wind problem. I've been recommended Infants Friend and just wondering if anyone has ever used it before. Also if anyone could share tips to help relieve our bub's wind pain. My heart breaks every time she screams.

Infants friend is awesome! It really worked for our DD!
    Worth a shot I'd say!

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter!

Hi I feel your pain, my bub was a windy bub too...but thankfully grew out of it by about 3 months! I tried many things to help - all the things to do with how to burp and cycle his legs - nothing worked. I also tried infants friend which again didnt work, then Bruers Wind drops again didnt work. My lifesaver was infacol!!!!!! We ended up having to put it in every bottle (small price to pay for happy family)! So I guess I am trying to say if infant friend doesnt help try one of the others on the market as the change in my bub was dramatic! Once I found the right one :-) Hope things inprove very soon!!!! PS It does get better!

    Hi Jill,

a tip I read elsewhere on BB and have found works a treat is bouncing gently on a fitball holding your bub up on your shoulder. DS responds really well to that and calms down instantly.

Good luck finding what what works for you xx

Like others said u may have to try several of the products til u find one that works well with your bub, infants friend worked for us, but i tried several 1st.

Bouncing your bub gently on your knee, swiveling ur bub round at the hips, holding ur bub in ur arm facedown so there is a little pressure on there tummy can help too (this one works well for my bub usually). Pushing the legs up to their tummy, bicycle legs, massaging their tummy in a clockwise direction..... I think thats all i can think of for now.

I used infants friend as and when I thought we needed it. Not every day. Not staggered doses. DS may have it 6 times in one day then none for two weeks.
