Loula, I HAD a copy of the Gina Ford book and it freaked me out! Hehe, I gave my copy away - and yeah, easy for a nanny who has no emotional ties to the child to give no verbal or eye contact to a baby, not so easy for a mummy!

MMM i wouldnt say easy for a nanny, i think you just have to be that way inclined.....i nanny'ed for several years and was way more maternal than their mother lol. I still try to find more love for my son than the children i looked after, and cant do it, i loved them just as much, does that make sense?
I am a big believer that babies/ children cry for a reason and if they are not achknowelged then it will have damaging effects.
.................yes that book is weird and from another race! lol(meaning not the human one)
