    Asking for things at bedtime

Just wondering how to deal with the constant asking for things at bedtime. Maggie has been doing it for quite awhile and I have been really stumped about what to do.

Tonight for example she asked for a certain baby doll, the proceeded to ask for all the accessories, unfortunately I could not find one, so of course she got upset. I don't mind having to get her one thing, but most of the time it seems to lead into a string of things. How can I say no and not make bedtime a sad/angry time?

At the moment we are trying to wean, so she is starting to go to sleep less and less without a feed, so I assume she might be trying to find her way to go to sleep. I don't want to inhibit that, but at the same time I do not want her delaying sleep.

Thanks Caro. So much I can do then. Things that she is bringing to bed are no going missing overnight, so that is causing even more upset when she wants them the next night and they are not there. Not sure what is happening to them, but I just can't find them the next day.

Could you maybe make up a bed time box with a few toys that she can have at bed time? Maybe 6-7 mummy approved toys that she can choose two from for that night or something like that?

Indah put herself to bed yesterday her very first sleep not in the cot... (day sleep)
When I went to check on her it was like the cupboard scene from ET you know where he's hiding & it's full of stuffed toys etc... Initially I wasnt sure she was there, til she moved a little..

I cant help, last night she chose to sleep in bed again for her night sleep & she took a handbag, but came out 2 times only I said, the cot or bed you choose, both times she chose bed & eventually stayed there!
