Baby Hammocks - any bad experiences????

DD1 was a shocking sleeper and would NOT sleep in cot. so i bought a hammock during second pregnancy in anticipation of a bad sleeper again. however DD2 (even though is a bit of a cat napper) will actually sleep in her cot. i chose to keep her in cot rather than hammock just so i didnt have to worry about the transition from one to the other. so my advice is save the money but wait until you see what kind of sleeper you get.

i bought one while i was pg with ds2, but tbh he actually didn't like it. he would cry everytime we put him in it. i ended up selling it on ebay.
he's happy sleeping in his cot.

I would second what hollo said, save the money and see what bub is like, and if he doesn't settle in his cot/bassinet then get a hammock. That is what I did.

I figured I couldn't get a shocking sleeper twice....we bought one at 16weeks old. Best thing we did. Doesn't sleep in it at night though.

oh yeah that was my other worry, i didnt know if it was safe for SIDS so wouldnt have let bub in it overnught anywqay.

my daughter slept in for all sleeps till she rolled in it. but then i also co sleep when need be. I didn't find it a problem her being in it.

hollo and sweetpea - i'm able to borrow one from my cousin so we won't have to worry about the $$. and sweetpea - thanks for your experience with the transition to the cot. doesn't sound too bad at all.

ginger - this is the first time i've heard someone say their bub didn't like it. thanks for letting me know.

kim - we're hoping we couldn't have that much bad luck to have 2 shocking sleepers in a row but it looks like you did!!!!

i think we'll definitely give it a go if/when we have another bub.
