Paige has never taken a dummy, but has been a thumb sucker her whole life LOL. I agree it isn't the best method of self comforting in a way cause of the issue of when to get them to stop doing it, but I do find that it is a great comfort to her (that and her blankie ) so I have always been happy for her to do it cause that's what makes her happy kwim? I do worry that we will have a few problems when we think it is a suitable time for her to stop, but when is that time going to be?

If it isn't his main form of comfort, would you be happy to let him go and see what happens and if you think he is relying on it too much, then maybe introduce another comfort item if it is bothering you?
