those who's bubbas aren't good sleepers

my DD has never been a good sleeper right from birth. every now and then though she will have an hour or more sleep (during the day) and i find myslef checking her constandly, like every 10 minutes, just because i am so used to her having little sleeps. anyone else?

Lol. I complain when DD has her usual 40min naps but some days when shes gone longer like couple hours (very rare!) I've complained cause I don't know what to do with myself. I don't check her that often but I do spy in the door at her. Its more at night when she goes longer than usually that I'm up checking.

Nina has only ever been a cat-napper during the day too and I'm constantly checking on her lol. I have her door shut as the a/c is on during the day, so I can't hear her. Except lately she's been having longer sleeps (1.5-2 hours) during the day and like shell, I get bored and don't know what to do with myself.

I was the same, I never knew what to do with myself when she slept longer. I was so used to rushing to get things done in the 40 minutes. I would wander around feeling lost till I finally got it into my head to sit down and enjoy myself.

*hands up* Matilda was a shocker sleeper as well... she's 2 1/2 and somedays she'll have her nap and others not during the day but she sleeps longer now for at least an hour. Jovie has been cat napping around 15 minutes at a time and suddenly started sleeping around 40 minutes and its very odd isn't it?? She has 3-4 40minute naps now and its weird being able to walk away and go to the toilet or check BB without worrying.

HI, DS is a cat napper, i wish he wasnt , as he wakes up so cranky,, so i am off to sleep school to get help.. if he woke up happy , it wouldnt worry me, if he cat napped all day. but he is so sad and unhappy when he is awake and tired.. i can only dream that he would sleep a minmum of 1.5hrs at a time duroing day sleeps

Bridie is a shocking sleep... if I am lucky she will have 2 day sleeps but they never last more than 30mins usually. At night, OMG it is a nightmare.

She used to sleep through (7-6) for ages which made the no day naps not so bad but the last fortnight she just refuses to sleep in her bed. She wants to sleep on me, not next to me but on me and preferably on the couch sitting up. I have had a doctor check her lungs and they are fine but it is driving me insane. Currently I am sitting on her bedroom floor for up to 2 hours or until I think she is asleep then creeping out of her room. If I make the slightest sound she wakes up and it starts over.

Logan has also been a shocking sleeper since the day he was born. 45min max during the day and has been in our bed at night just so I could function. He has been on reflux medication, seen a chiropractor and paed. have tried massage, baths, sling, hammock etc etc
We have recently been to NorthPark mother/baby unit and without any form of CC (which I will never do and fortunately against their policy too) we now have a much happier and better sleeping little man. I won't say he is fabulous and it is still quite hard work but he sleeps up to 1.5-2hrs 3 times a day in a cot! The nights are still quite difficult but hopefully we will get there.
he's been asleep nearly 2hrs this afternoon and I can't stop checking on him! But i have got SOOOOO much housework done -fabulous!
I think if you have a happy cat-napper then that is just them and I would live with it but those whose bubs wake up carnky after 40-45mins like mine did then its worth trying to get help. Logan is a much, much happier child when he gets more sleep.

Now if only I could get the same.......... we would both be content!
