DD is sick with a virus and has slept with us for part of the night for the past two nights, we dont co-sleep as we dont reallly feel comfortable therefore we dont sleep, now im worried i;ll never get her back out of our bed do i ride it out for a bit longer or the longer i do this the harder it will get?? HELP any suggestions??
Don't panic! You know how we always think these things will last forever? Well, they never do. promise. As soon as she is better she will go back into her own bed. I'd just ride it out and do what you need to while she is sick. Things will go back to normal soon.
phew!! thanks everyone, i really hope she goes back into her bed soon, im sleep deprived enough without this, last night was ok as DH was away so we both slept really well (well 4 hours is gooooood to me) but he's home tonight, though i guess he can sleep on the lilo! she's ok during the day in the cot just not second half of the night
DD has been cosleeping the past wk too coz she was sick and now it's hard to get her back into her cot. But she's always been a terrible sleeper and millie has always been good so I reckon she'll be fine.
Yep. Lu spewed EVERWHERE in her bed last night. We've had 6 nappies this morning so far from 'sharding' (****ting whilst farting if you're not up with the lingo. ) Pretty over poo and spew. It has to end soon. seriously!
A friend of mine who went to a sleep centre for her daughter, was shown how to settle her in her own bed. But she was advised that when a child is sick all that goes out the window. I wouldn't worry about a couple of days, just encourage her to go back when she's back to her normal self. I know it can be a little hard in the meantime but it shouldn't be for too much longer if you're not keen on co-sleeping. Hope DD is 100% very soon.
Jols - we've had the same as Miss J has been up during the night as well. Ange - we've also had the sharting with up the back action so I have to dress her in layers so it doesn't leak through. Blah!!!
Anyway - back on topic - she will go back to her own bed when she is feeling better. FWIW I always start Miss J in her bed at night and then move her to our when she wakes. Once she is better she wakes less and stays in her own bed longer.
