DS co-sleeps, and until recently has also had all his naps in our bed too. 4 days ago he had 3 naps a day, 2 x 45-60mins & 1 x 60-90mins. He had his own little routine going where they all happened around the same time every day.
But 4 days ago he crawled off our bed, straight past the bedrails. So he cant sleep in our bed without one of us there anymore obviously, & staying with him isnt practical as I would get nothing done around the house. The cot will not fit in our small room, so we have had to put move him back into his own room for day sleeps & the first half of the night until I go to bed.
And now his day sleeps have regressed. He has become a little harder to settle to sleep, and is now only sleeping for 30mins each nap. 1.5hrs at the most total for each day, which just isnt enough. He is tired, grumpy & come evening he is so overtired he is taking up to two hours to get to sleep (rocking/bouncing. Huge drastic change from the 10-15mins it was taking previously).
I know its all to be expected with the routine change, but will it get better? Should he start to lengthen those naps out again? I am seriously wanting to pull the plug & put him back in our bed, but that just isnt possible as its not safe enough.
