MadsMum I was in a similar position this cycle (my af was late but no ++HPT) I too worried it was another ectopic as as you said its possible for this to happen and not get a +HPT. You are right to be concerned and your've done the right thing going to the Drs you can never be too careful when you have been through what you have been through and the risk of this happening is slightly higher then the general population. The BT should show you the HCG level. If its below 5 I would say its safe to say your risk of another ectopic at the moment would be basically nothing so that will be reassuring at least. Some of the other girls have mentioned chemical pregnancy which sounds very likely. Usually when this happens your AF (if you can call it that) arrives within a week or two. Thanks for the reassurance Emmy, I am pretty sure its just an early miscarriage. But like you said the worry of another ectopic is in the back of my mind! If I had to lose another tube my chances of naturally falling pregnant would be gone and thats scary
I am scared of that too Madsmum loosing my last tube. My AF started like the bleeding I got with the ectopic pregnancy (plus its was 6days late) I almost convinced myself it was happening again. Now I know it wasn't but yeah its always in the back of your mind.
Awwww thanks heaps ladies. The Dr called me just before and my first blood test came back negative. Dr says it was an early loss and my period should start soon.
I experienced a heterotopic pregnancy earlier this year. the ectopic twin ruptured my tube as i didn't know it was there until it was too late. So i also have just one tube.
I think it's a better outcome to have had a chemical loss than another ectopic. I know it's not very comforting... but at least you know you're fertile and capable of conceiving again!! Which is great news!!!
