Just wondering how accurate the pregnancy tests are which say you can test before your preiod is due? I am due for my period in 5 days and I tested this morning, and it was negative.
Does this mean I am not pregnant? Has anyone used such test and got a negative result but have actually been pregnant??
I so thought this was the month.......

the tests are accurate only 47% for 5 days before AF and teh percentage goes up.
re test in 3 days, and use FMU.
also it depends how many days Post Ovulation you are as to the amount of HCG in your system.
if you are only 8 DPO then you more than likely will have a negative result as it can take up to 12-16 days for implantation then 2-4 days for levels to rise to a level able to be read by a HPT.
Hi,
I was using a sensitive test and I didn't get a positive result til 5 days AFTER AF was due. When I did the first one (before it was due), I was mad and disappointed (usual drill), but when I didn't get my period I kept testing and testing everyday til finally I got a positive, much later than the test said I would get it.
When I went to the doctors, I told him exactly what happened and he said that we'll try the ones they had at the clinic but the tests they had wouldn't pick up a positive until 7 til 10 days after AF was due - and then when I did that one the second line came up HEAPS darker and clearer then any of the sensitive ones I was using. So I had my doubts about the sensitive test I was using. I honestly don't think it was working to the sensitivity it said or of very good quality.
I am only 6 weeks and 4 days now with my first, so certainly no expert, but that was my experience.
Have you had any other symptoms?
Good Luck!
