Question Acupuncture & Chinese herbs for conception?! Does it work?

    Hello all,

I saw a fantastic chinese herbalist last week. It was all great, I had acupuncture which felt quite amazing, I could feel things going on, really!!
I couldnt afford the herbs straight away, just hadnt budgeted for that much.
I may get them for next month but I am just wondering if anyone else has used chinese herbs and felt they helped them to get pregnant?
Would anyone recommend getting the herbs? Or would just using the acupuncture be fine?
Any good stories about acupuncture and conception?

    Cant wait to hear stories!

I had both and believe it benefitted my cycle, conception and (most importantly) I had NO period pain for the first time in my life!!!

    Good luck

Hi there, i tried both acupuncture & chinese herbs. While it didn't really help me with a BFP i found the acupuncture did alot in fixing my cycle length, i found it also helped with my insomnia and helped me relax. I tried acupuncture for 5 months, we were about to start IVF so i decided to take a month off of from the acupuncture and wasn't really fussed about TTC - funnily enough that was the month we got our BFP

Hi Boo, I'd love to know how often you got acupuncture? Was it weekly or more often?

Hi there, I used accupuncture and herbs (not Chinese herbs though) to help with my fertility and on my 4th cycle of combined accupuncture / herbs I got my BFP and currenlty over 26wks pg. I was concieving before this but with difficulty and lost two precious bubbies, I really believe that this current pg stuck because of the treatment, it helped get my body strong enough and healthy enough to hold onto a little one.

I was having accupuncture every second week and taking herbs everyday.

You can PM me if you want more info

    Howdy,
I have just started acupuncture and really hoping that it works!
At the moment I am having it once a week. I am not taking herbs though. But she advised me to not eat diary or wheat to help my ovaries function better.
I'll keep you posted if it works for me.

    Hi

I am starting acupuncture next week - have heard really good things about it, so I'm looking forward to it!! I haven't had AF for over 9 weeks now, but I know that I am not pg (5 BFNs so far ). So trying acupuncture to try to regulate my cycles. I have also been seeing an osteopath who says that my body is a mess at the moment as it is readjusting after being on BCP. I am currently taking Vit B and Vitex (suggested by osteopath) but am waiting to hear what acurpunturist recommends.

Wishing you the best of luck with TTC

How many sessions i had depended on where i was in my cycle - the week of AF i didn't have any acupuncture, I would see her once a week from the week leading up to O right through the luteral phase - goodluck

I'm seeing a chinese herbalist and have been for nearly 3 months now. Althought I am on 150mg of clomid I am sure that its the herbs that eventually got me to ovulate and to regulate my period. I have had 2 months of bang on 28 days with ovulation at cd14.If we dont fall pregnant within the next 2 cycles with clomid we have decided to go with the herbs until the end of the year before trying anything else. It has improved so many other areas of my health as well. It tastes disgusting and is expensive but for now it suits me.

    Hi
I have been having acupuncture and herbs for several months now. The funny thing is the only month i stuck to it 120% (plus clomid 50mg) i 0 ed then the next month i thought oh well im 0ing now no need to keep it all going i didnt 0 so i really believe that it was the acupuncture and herbs that did it. My acupuncturist said the Acupuncture goes with the herbs not the herbs go with the acupuncture (so the herbs are more important then acupuncture) so if you can afford to get them i would highly recommended it!!! All the best
