I think the biggest reason they want you to wait is for dating your pregnancy. But a quick scan will solve that problem, should the need arise.
About the HPTs - I think there are lots of ladies here who've taken at least that many and more when they're waiting/hoping for a pregnancy. You're certainly not alone, or going crazy.
Just hang in there! Give it a little time, and try to relax - it'll come.

The waiting period is long especially when we're waiting for it to happen. Hope these days fly by and then I will have some great news to shout out to everyone!

    Smile Acupuncture to regulate hormones

    Hi Carmen2,

I have suffered one still birth at 26 weeks and a miscarriage at 6 weeks in the last two years and after reading about the use of acupuncture to help with fertility, I decided to try it out.

I not only felt a lot more relaxed after about the third session of acupuncture but I also found that:
    - my breast milk finally dried up (8 months after stillbirth)
    - I experiencing more pronounced mood swings (eg: pms)
    - I am getting acne on my back about a week before my period arrived
    - I am warmer in general (I am normally the first person to say they are cold)
and I have a stronger constitution in general.

The acupunturist states that this is my body/hormones starting to function as they should and expelling all the rubbish in my system.

I was also put on magnesium, calcium and sodium sulfate, to build up the minerals in my body, which were lost when I was pregnant as I had morning sickness for the whole 26 weeks I was pregnant.

I am now in the TWW and feel a lot more positive about a possible pregnancy than I have in a long time.

My friends and work collegues have all commented that I look really well.

So maybe acupuncture could help regulate your hormones.

    Warmest regards
    Eloise

    Hi

As Mbear said you've only had a baby 8 months ago. Personally it takes my body ages for my cycles to regulate. I found this out after ttc dd#2 when DD#1 was 10months old. I started charting after a mc when DD1 was only 6months old and my cycles were all over the shop. For months I had constant spotting and at other times no AF or ovulation.

I got sick of my body not doing what I wanted it too so I started taking Vitex and vitamin B, within a few cycles my cycles returned to normal and we concieved DD#2.

If you are concernedmaybe start charting to see what your body is doing (although be warned this can stress you out too). My other suggestion would be to see a Natural Therapist because you may not get much help from a GP...

    Good luck

My AF is back since Jul 20. Well, I was so happy when it arrived! (The crazy woman who was begging for AF). Now that I have finally waited for this day to come, I have started charting. Not so sure how long my body will have AF for. It usally lasted for about 5 days. Hopefully it will be a regular cycle afterward.

Since we're TTC for #2. I was actually wondering about how possible is it for me to conceive base on this AF. My last AF was June 6, and this is July 20... so I can definitely say there's a big gap. Do you think I could calculate my ovulation date base on my AF now...

I thought of acupuncture but DH wasn't too keen on this idea because he wants my body to go back to its regular cycle on its own instead of me doing interventions... I felt like going behind his back to get my body fixed... but this thought gave me so much guilt as DH and I never hide things from each other and I know that he wants the best for me and that he doesn't want me to go through unnecessary stress just for me to get pregnant....

Should I try to calculate my ovulation date base on this cycle or do you think it's another wacked off AF cycle that my body has produced?

Personally I would start this cycle fresh and start temping now. Basically it is a wait and see game if your cycles are not regular yet. It is hard to "calculate" or predict ovulation when your cycles are not normal iykwim. Therefore observe your cervical mucus and take your temps. Record all your information and you may start to see a pattern. DTD when you see your mucus change to egg white or watery and then see if you get a temp rise over 3 consectutive days. By having a consistent temp rise you'll know that you have already ovulated.

    Hope that helps.

    Bekz,

Thank you. DH and I are hoping for this cycle too. I know it is hard to predict the ovulation date since my body is still a little all over the place. But you're right, never know what will happen until we give it a try. According to the ovulation calculator, I'm "supposed" to ovulate around August 1-August 8. DH and I are going on a trip to Mexico in two weeks to get so rest and to catch up with one another since DD's birth. I guess I will try it around those time since we're going on August 2... hopefully, I will have so good news.

I can't wait for my body to be normal again... I used to have regular cycles (same day every month). ARGH!!! don't you just miss those days?

I'm crossing my fingers for August and will probably be DTD as much as we can in Mexico since it's much harder with DD is around.... I will keep everyone posted if something happens... will try HPT around August 20... By then, DD will be 9 months and 1 1/2 week. Hope my body will take me up for it!
