I like the age gap between DD1 AND DD2.
2 years between them. It was good because DD1 knew enough to know about her little sister and to really enjoy it. Now they are the best of friends playing, and enjoy a lot of the same things. I think if the age group was any bigger they wouldn't have such a nice bond!
We actually considered TTC from January, and my DS is the same age as yours, as you know LOL. Now I'm thinking I need more time, so we're looking at about a 2 yr age gap. My sister and I are 2.5 years apart, and have always been pretty close. All the same, I have a brother 10.5 yrs older too, and we're also close. I think whether or not kids get along can have a lot to do with their individual personalities moreso than their age differences.
i love the diff between my girls! when iz was born cha was old enough to understand what please wait a minute while i feed the baby meant! izzy isnt going to be able to understand with this one. Cha was also old enough to run and grab the wipes for me if i need her to or things like that. iz on the other hand, might do it, if she feels like it
there is 8 years between DS and DD1...thats far to long lol
there is 17 months between DD1 and DD2 and its been a stuggle at times I'm looking forward to when they are a bit older as the last nearly 2 years has been a bit full on
Oh Kylz I wouldn't change the age gap for all the money in the world its wonderful watching them learn and play together and to think about them as adults and being so close in age I think is going to be wonderful just saying its been a full on few years Im not sure it would be any different being boys and girls I think it would just depend on the kids.
There's 12 months between my girls and TBH I found it pretty hellish for the first 12 months or so. It is absolutely brilliant now though - they are incredibly close and have a lot of the same interests in things. DD2 can't do quite everything DD1 can, but geez she tries hard!
There will be 4 and 5 years difference between the girls and #3. Not what I would have chosen but that's just how it goes sometimes. I figure the downside is that there may not be anywhere near as strong a bond between the girls and this one. The upside is that I will have a ton of time to enjoy my new baby, without feeling like I'm neglecting the girls cos they'll be at kindy and school. They are also both old enough to understand and are so excited to be getting a little brother or sister.
I am a total minority among everyone I know. I can't think of anything worse than two littlies at the same time Like Skybie said, by the time we have our next bub, I'd like DD to be able to understand what is going on, be TT, help out etc. We'll start TTC when DD is 3, hopefully it will not take 2 years to achieve a sticky pregnancy next time, but tbh a 3-5 year age gap suits me. We want all our children by 30, so if #2 takes as long as #1, the age gap between #2 and #3 will shrink.
ETA my brother and I have 21 months apart, my mum found it really difficult in the earlier years as we were isolated and dad was mostly away. My brother and I are not as close as I'd like, but that's more due to his life choices rather than his age.

I had a 26m gap between me and my sister and we are NOT close, never have been.
DS will have a minimum of 5.5 years between him and a sibling (closer to 6.5 years), that's slightly longer than planned but still has to be better than two children close in age stuck in one family home, same school, same rules, same village... who really can't stand each other for years.
I've been thinking about age gap every day as dh has decided he doesn't want another baby we had wanted a 2yr gap but I am giving him until ds is 2 to change his mind as I don't want a Gap bigger than 3 years. For the kids and for my body. I'm have a 2yr gap between my siblings, I'm in the middle. Can't stand my sister and was close to my brother. I wouldnt count on sibs getting along whatever the age gap is. Im more concerned about logistics in the household and my physical wellbeing.

I had about 18 mths difference etween my sister and myself, we're close-ish, I suppose...lol
There's 4 years difference between DD1 and DD2 and I quite like it, DD1 was off at kinder when DD2 was born and now, they get along great and are close, most of the time.
My sister's kids on the other hand have a 2yr gaps between them, so 4yrs, 2yrs and 7 weeks and I see how much she struggles with them and there's no way on earth I could do that, but that's just me.
