am i pregnant or is it just coming off the pill symptoms
Hi ladies,
This is the second time i have posted a thread still not quiet sure how everything works . But was wondering if anyone has a simialr story to me or any advise. I had my last period on the 24th of april after stopping the pill on the 21st. It lasted for 7 days. I am unsure of my cycle since i have not beeen off the pill for long however i would have thought it would have come by now considering it has been 35 days. I took a home test just to check but neg result which doesnt suprise me as we havnt been trying long, however I am wondering is it possiable i am preg and it's to early to show or could it be just my body adjusting to not being on the pill. I am totally confused. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I guess it is possible for you to be PG but it's also possible for your AF to be irregular for a while. Mine was all over the place when I went off it and it took 8 weeks to have one! I had a BT at 6 weeks that was -ve. If you can hang in a bit longer then it might be just around the corner
Lishyd - dont stress, you could still be UTD. How are fertile symptoms? Eg EWCM, etc? I know others will say it, but check out the charting sites that can assist you chart your cycle.
My GF had #1 first try, then took 5 months to get pregnant with #2. She ended up with regular 6 week cycles after her first bub which meant she was alwayd doing HPTs after 30 days, when this was around when she was Oing!
The pill does weird things to your body, and you might not have even ovulated yet, and you are thinking you have missed AF! But if too much time goes by and AF hasn't arrived, with BFN, then visit your GP for a blood test to see what your hormones etc are doing.
the first time i came off the pill it took me 9 months before i got a period!
but i have also heard that you are most fertile immediately after coming off pill (dont ask me how this works!) i would probably just continue to take your folate pills and look after yourself, and then test yourself again in a couple of weeks,,, goodluck!
I also had a long delay before my period returned after stopping the pill - about 8 months or so. It was very frustrating waiting for normal cycles to return as I was so eager to TTC. I tried talking to several doctors who all just dismissed my concerns and told me to just wait and see. They were especially patronising about it because I was young (early 20s) and said things like 'you've got plenty of time to have a baby, I wouldn't worry about it'. After finally having another period, my cycles were still long and irregular but it was during that time that we conceived DD and I ended up being pregnant about 12 months after stopping the pill.
Are you charting? I know from charting that I never EVER have an annovulatory cycle. So whilst my cycles are all long and unpredictable, I never get a period unless I have ovulated. Which I assume is why it took so long for me to have another period after stopping the pill. Maybe another person would have had several annov. cycles during that time and wouldn't have known they weren't ovulating - whereas I just had no menstruation at all until my body got ovulation working again. Just my theory!
good luck! I remember that awful waiting time. I think I'm a lot more patient now and the long cycles don't bother me as much...
