am I UTD?

I am hoping someone with a little knowledge would be able to help me. I did post a few days ago but had no response
I have been having 'spotting' not consistantly off and on for about 5 days and AF is not due till the 8th. I feel bloated but that may be to the large number of rice cakes I have eaten. Am I Up the duff?
We are trying but I did take a test last night and it was neg.

It sounds like it could be implantation bleeding? If that's the case, you probably won't get a BFP until implantation has well and truly taken place and your body starts creating more hCG. Best of luck

I tested this morning and it was (but i am not due till next tuesday) Is that common? Can you get a positive from a HPT before AF is due to arrive?

you can but not till 1 or 2 days before.

what brand are you using?

I like first response, I have gotten BFP's at 12 DPO with them so 2 days before AF was due

You can but it depends on when you ovulated/conceived and how quickly your body produces hcg. Some people dont even get a bfp after af is due!
I agree with traveller, test on your due date, good luck!

If AF isn't due until the 8th, then you likely wouldn't get a positive for at least a few more days yet - you would only currently be around 8dpo. try again is a few more days and if still neg wait and see if AF shows.


(or do what I always did and drive yourself crazy with continual testing - but I don't recommend it )

I reckon it's too early just yet. When I was pg with DS2 I got a BFN two days before AF was due. I waited until the day after AF was due and got a BFP

yep, I am using First Response. I was just looking through my diaries of my last pregnancy and I didn't test positive until 20 day post AF and got a positive then, which was pretty much when AF was due anyway....three days previous to that test I tested neg, is that a pattern I should be looking at?

I had implantation bleeding ( slight bleed and pink in colour ) around the 14th October with period due 25th. I new I was pregnant and took that may home tests and each one came back negative. I took one on the 24th negative. I took one on the morning of the 25th ( day period due ) and POSITIVE. So within 12 hrs is went from negative to positive. Previous 3 pregnancies though I never tested positive too until 14 days after by due period. So everyone and every pregnancies is different. All the best

Well I think I am on a roll with this HPT thing... I have now done one every day with the latest one this morning and it was neg. The only thing is I have had this spotting off and on (a little today) Am I OK or have people experienced this before (preg outcome irrelevent)

Hi kanda, I got a BFP this time using first response at 9dpo, but i think that's unusual? Not sure about the spotting, it could be implantation bleeding. FX for you

If you're really worried, go and see your GP. You might be able to get a BT done. Otherwise, wait until AF arrives and see what happens .

I often get spotting ( brown on wiping) before my period, have had it for a few years, sometimes only 1 or 2 days but once I had spotting for 7 days, it is very annoying and I often get my hopes up that it is cos I am pregnant (never is )
I don't mean that theres no chance you are pregnant but the times I have been pregnant I didn't have it, sorry if this isn't what you want to hear, its just the way my body is and I really hope you are UTD and its implantation.
As for the spotting itself I have asked numerous Drs but they seem to think its just one of those things and doesn't mean anything wrong, its just annoying, esp if you want AF to start so you can start your cycle again!! Other people I know get it too.
Like i said I don't mean to be negative but just wanted you to know it doesn't mean anything bad FX you get a bfp in a few days xxx

Hi, I got my BFP on Wednesday the 2nd, on Friday the 28th of Jan it was still negative, so it does take a couple weeks from ovulation love! my LMP started on the 30th of December, and I ovulated on the 19th (ish), because DH works away and he was only home on teh 19th and 20th so it had to be those days. Just so you have an idea! Good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xo
