    Question To avoid ovulation.... possible?

    Hi girls,

DF and I have been talking about DTD and not using condoms (not using them sometimes).... is it really possible to fall pregnant in those days after your AF has finished? Or during the time between AF ending and "O" time? i mean, if I can take note of my CM and when my "O" is due, and only DTD around those times when I am not "O" then is it possible?
I mean, it's probably a silly question....but can you truely fall pregnant when NOT ovulating? Unless you ovulate early or late????

Has anyone you know or you, fallen pregnant straight after AF finished or before AF was due???

Or perhaps we should just wait 2 more months and then start TTC... 2mths isn't long i guess....just being very inpatient that's all.... i mean, i have this mindset that hey we may aswell start DTD now without using any protection as it will probably take 2-6mths to conceive (on average im guessing)...... who knows!

Renee... sperm can live inside for 3 - 4 days... but you have to be pretty spot on when your ovulating! I don't think it's a very good method of BC, because every month you will think you might be pregnant because you have had unprotected sex and will always test yourself iykwim?

I'd have to agree with Catherine.

You can fall pregnant at anytime in your cycle prior to ovulation.

yeah that's true Catherine, i forgot that sperm can live for up to 4 days... i've heard that. true.. true... perhaps just using condoms for now might be better....
thanks. i had to ask anyway...
i suppose too, my body is capable of doing anything at any time considering its still regulating after BCP's....

Wait. Seriously. I was cycle-tracking and had no EWCM so fell pg with DS. 2 months isn't long to wait - while we were happy to have DS, you have a wedding dress to fit into. All you need is to DTD then 3 hours later see EWCM and bam! you're either pg or worried about if for the next 3 weeks. It can take a normal healthy couple up to a year to concieve, true, but that doesn't mean it will.

That's right Niass... I mean, if I fell pregnant now, I would be totally over the moon!! I am just so ready to have a baby... just means I "might" be sick on my wedding day that's all... surely I wouldn't start showing until 3-4mths anyway? DF isn't quite ready just yet, he wants to wait 2 more months but to be honest, i don't think that's much of a difference in time!!! besides, gives us more of a headstart!!! ... our honeymoon isn't until Dec and we aren't going to wait until then! That's tooo far away!!

DF really wants to TTC in Sept whereas i want to try now!!! How do i convince him? I don't want to do it now unless he feels up for it too as it wouldnt be fair... (not that it makes much difference! its nearly late July!!)

My friend was doing natural family planning (temping and cycle watching), fell pregnant 3 months before she married and she needed the dress letting out a few times - she showed really early. Just as a warning!

Niass - nice one... he's too busy watching a documentary on tele! I was so keen 2 nights ago but he wasnt interested as he was "fixing the shower!!" ggrrr and then last night he was very up to it! But i wasn't!!!!! I just wanted to go to bed and "had a headache" too - that will teach him! hehe
Nah, I think we'll wait just at least 1 more cycle.

Ryn - really? showing at 3mths? Was she a tiny person? I mean, i am overweight and have some fat around my belly and already could pass as being 5mths pregnant i reckon so i dont think ppl would notice! BUT I have heard that some women get very "bloated" and that makes the difference???!? thanks for warning me...

oh, and I just started charting on FertilityFriend so that will keep me busy in the meantime.... :P
