    Baby aspirin- for a friend

    Hoping someone can help....
My neighbor has suffered miscarriage the last 2 times she has been pregnant, including one at 16 weeks.
Unfortunately medical professionals won't look into until she has had 3 miscarriages.
Has anyone used baby aspirin to help with recurrent miscarriage?
    What are the side effects?

Don't use baby aspirin unless a doctor/FS has suggested it. It is only of benefit in certain circumstances and can actually cause problems (including miscarriage) if the wrong person uses it.

After having three miscarriage, my ob recommended fish oil tablets, baby aspirin from time I found out I was pregnant to end of first trimester and pregnancy vitamins. It worked for me. He basically said that it helps to increase blood flow.

i used low dose aspirin for this pregnancy (ivf), stopped around 16-17 weeks but ob was happy for me to take until 34-36 weeks if i wanted to (bit nervous about stopping). it was used in conjunction with other ivf drugs though, and more for implantation of the embryo rather than for the entire pregnancy. i have had 2 early miscarriages previously, this was the first time i decided to throw low dose aspirin in there too. dont know if it made any difference, could have been just one of those things. as n2l mentioned though, i did discuss with my fs/ob before commencing. i also had a blood test (about 8-10 vials, cant remember now...) to check for blood clotting disorders - your neighbour might want to look in to getting that done if she hasnt already. i didnt notice any side effects from the low dose aspirin.
