    baby on the brain.

i now have a new little nephew born 21st may at 10.6pounds. and it is making waiting until start of aug soooooooooooo hard. i am at the point where i dont want to go see him. i was with him yesterday and everythign he did i was like awwwwwwwwwww thats so cute and kept sayin to trev i cant wait till our baby does that or i cant wait till we go places with our kid. and i have been buying little things when i go shopping as trevs job maybe ending soon and he will be out of work but i think i am starting to get too carried away with the things i am buying i only really have th ebig things like the cot, pram etc to go. Is anyone else as bad as i am?

I have bought a basinette, rocker and glider chair, and have them all set up with a couple of other things in the room that will be the 'nursery' when we finally are successful with having a baby to put in there! My friends say that they think that I am making it harder for myself by having a room nearly all set up. I think it gives me something to look forward to, like a 'fat photo' stuck on the fridge when you are on a diet!!

I find myself constantly looking on ebay at baby things, then I catch myself before bidding and think you aren't even pg yet - stop wasting time! Have you been ttc for very long?

Oh Sassy!! I'm soooo glad you mentioned this! I too, am going to TTC in August and I am so ready to have a baby and fall pregnant right now. I've had babies on the brain for a good 12 months now... i'm terribly clucky. I'm turning 26 tomorrow which isn't helping as it's reminding me that I am getting older now! The clock is ticking!
We are TTC Aug/Sept as our wedding is late Sept and I don't want to be "bloated" for the wedding so to say... so the wedding is the only thing stopping us! And me fitting into my wedding dress of course...!
I constantly look at babies in prams in shops, baby clothes/toys, and my sister is due to give birth any day now so I'm like 'aaagghh" aswell!
How come you are waiting if you don't mind me asking?? It's difficult waiting also because you don't know how long it will take to fall preg do you? I wish we knew....

I haven't bought much, however I have bought a little boys outfit because i couldnt resist once, that's if we have a boy, if we don't i can give it away... and little green slippers for a baby (unisex)...

LOL Its funny how we keep quiet about things because we think that we are weird but so many other people around us are doing the same thing. When DH and i decided to start trying (June/July last year) we couldnt help it and bought clothes every time we saw a sale. We went a little over board but we didnt think it would take this long to TTC. Now we have a glory box type of thing full of baby clothes for when the time is right. We also bought a few really cute stuffed toys but we stopped at that. Wont be buying anything now till i am well and truly pregnant. I dont feel that it has made it harder for us as we arent always looking at the stuff. I have also indulged in lots of pregnancy mags. My excuse is i want to read ahead so that when i am pregnant i know what to expect rather than reading about it when its too late.

Yesterday we babysat a 14 month old all day and had to do everything from feeding, nappies, entertaining and putting her to sleep and it was the best experience ever. DH and i had a bawl and its made us realise how clucky we really are and how badly we want this baby.

Paula, that would have been a great experience for you and DH! I hope we get to do that before we have a baby, only problem is none of our friends have babies except for one and we don't see them all that much! haha i LOVE being around babies and they don't scare me at all either I'm sure being a mum can be stressful at times and challenging however at the end of the day it's all worth it !

I have bought a few super-cute baby things too - I just can't help myself! But I talked myself into the idea that I was just buying 'gifts' in case friends fell preggo...and I have recently found out that a close friend HAS just got her BFP! So now I have to call my own bluff and give some of my cute clothes away

My age is worrying me and I have a fear that I will never fall pregnant and will have a bunch of baby clothes to depress me...

Luckily (?) DH is not clucky at all - he is one of those old-fashioned 'men-don't-like-babies' macho types, lol! So he keeps my feet on the ground...

    Hi Mum2furbabies,

Please don't stress about your age - i wish i was your age again!! You still have lots of time so just keep it up and you will have that little baby one day to put those cute clothes onto. Good luck for a BFP really soon.

Yeah Sassy, I thought I was getting too obsessed, but it appears to be a normal part of life for a woman wanting kids to get a bit carried away... keep buying the clothes and the toys etc if that's what makes you happy and keeps you excited then why not?? Go for it! I would buy some but we are trying to save lately so that's not a good idea for us at the moment!!! I LOVE looking at the baby clothes and always say to my DF, would you let your baby wear this? Would you buy this for your baby? Do you like the name ### etc etc and I talk about babies all the time to DF!!! hehe

    C'MON AUGUST!!!!! C'MON!!!!!!! C'MON BFP's!!!!!!!

Thanks Renstar and Lissie for the kind words
You are right of course...age is not necessarily a barrier and as long as AF is still around there is still hope (this time we LOVE her, hehe) Lissie your sig says it all...never say never! I guess we all get the mopes sometimes when we want something so badly and have to be patient though, just human nature.

Hope you all get those wonderful BFP's soon. My theory is that the longer the wait the more magical it will be!
