can any one shed some light on this for me?

DS is just over 6 months old. before i had DS A/F was every 21-22 days.
after having DS i b/f'd and expressed untill just over 3 months old. i got a/f once in this time. then my cycle seemd longer before the next a/f. then back to 21-22 days. and now i'm on day 25. i havent had any real signs of early preg. other then my (.Y.) feel bigger KWIM? i'd literally just started to keep an eye on my cycle (DH and i are going to TTC #2 at the end of this year...) so i guess im wondering - how long (if ever) will it be untill my cycle is 'back to normal' and would it be too early to tell if i was UTD (did one HPT and it was :BFN: ) if A/F hasnt reared her ugly head by next week im going to re-test then head to the doctors.

I think it's different for everyone when their AF goes back to normal after having a bub. My AF came back (while BF'ing) when DS2 was 6 months old, I fell pg again when he was about 13 months old, but AF never got regular in that 7 months. It ranged from 24 - 32 days which was so frustrating!

I hope you get some answers soon .

It is different with everyone. Some will get AF back like clockwork as soon as lochia has stopped while still BFing, others will go right through their BFing journey (some 2 years & more) without AF!
Mine returned when DS was 9 months old, but didn't go back to a normal cycle. Mine was 6 - 7 weeks apart for 3 cycles, then I went & got my depo shot, which stopped it, so I have no idea where it would be now.
I think there's every chance yours may still be a bit out of wack. I think my body was just having kind of break through AF & I might not have even been ovulating... I really don't know TBH.
Definetely do another test, or go check with your gp if you are unsure though

22-24 days is a shortish cycle so possibly it could be extending a bit? I'd give it another test in a few days and see how you go.

After DS1 I got AF back after six weeks (what a cow) and I'm super regular now, never was before!

I think that your body looks after itself after having a baby and your hormones settle down as they are ready to. b/f takes a lot out of your body and IMHO irregular cycles is your body's way of letting you know it isn't ready to be preggers again. You may not find you settle down in cycles for a couple of years after having your baby!
