Chosing the sex of your baby?

    Hello,

I'm just wondering if anyone out there is following any special "girl" or "boy" diets or any other method to TTC a particular sex?

I know a couple of people to have tried different things ie. timing of conception, diet etc to increase their chances of getting the little girl or little boy that they desperately want. It's has worked for some of my friends & not for others.

Does anyone think it is possible to choose your baby's sex or is it "you get what you get"?

Don't get me wrong... My husband & I will be over the moon with what ever we end up with once we conceive, so long as he/she is healthy!

I am just curious to see if many other people out there actually do follow certain methods to increase their chance either way?

I personally don't believe a special diet or doing it on different days or whatever other odd things people try makes a difference. The people who try these things and then don't get the sex they hoped for (and there's heaps of them out there) will say they don't work and those who happen to get the sex they wanted will say that it worked.

Let's face it, it's a 50/50 chance of getting one or the other so there is absolutely no way of knowing if what you did before the pregnancy actually made a difference, regardless of what anyone tries to tell you.

Personally, I'm trying for one that sticks regardless of what sex they might be.

    Hi Jodie...

I am one of the failures of gender swaying. We swayed for a boy and we are having girl #4 in about a month.

But I have to disagree with Satya and say I think there are measures you can take to increase your chances of conception of one gender over the other. There had been scientific research into increasing sodium/potassium to help conceive a boy or calcium /magnesium to increase your chances of a girl. There have also been studies on abstinence and other factors that influence conception.

There is lots of info out there and it is extremely overwhelming! Our attempt included, timing, diet changes, internal environment monitoring and alteration.

And as Trish said you are more than welcome to post in the gender swaying thread for more info.

    I hope i have helped.
