Clomid question! :)

Hi!

I am just wondering if anyone can help me that has been on clomid before.. What CD do u normally O on? Day 14?? Are the OPT pretty accurate and do they give u 24 hrs notice? I have heard that taking clomid can give OPTs false readings but not sure..??

Not sure about the OPK's giving false ++, sorry, But I took clomid for 1 month (which I fell pg). I took it from day 2 to day 6. I was meant to O on day 14 to 16 (after an ultrasound on day 12 showed an egg brewing), though I didn't end up Oing till day 21 or 22

With regards to O, you would expect it around 5 days after you take the last tablet. So if you take it Cd5-9 then you would expect to O around cd14.

With the OPK it will register a false positive while you are taking the tablets... So, again, this was a while ago, I would wait 3 days after taking the last tablet and start OPK. But basically my Dr said to forget OPKs and just DTD every second day from CD10 - 20 and that should cover it. I then had my BT on CD21 to confirm O, which, for me, came back positive each time.

Every one is different on Clomid. I O around CD14, 15 & 16 normally. But I have O'd CD13 and also CD23. It varies.

I have never had a false + with OPK's. I'm also charting my BBT so it also confirms O day in conjunction with OPK's.

When I get a + OPK I know that I will O 2 days later. When you read the OPK box it tells you that when you get a + OPK you will most likely O within the next 24-36 hours.

My first month on Clomid I took it from CD5-9 and O'd on CD17... this month I took Clomid from CD2-6 and O'd on CD16

As the other girls say, it varies from person to person.

I've never had a false +ve either...

Are you getting monitered with blood test or scans to see? That's how i knew an then my ob told us when to do the deed so no missing it!!

Thanku so so much for all that info! The reason i was asking was cos i have to drive 500kms to get to dh (very desperate i know!) and i dont want to miss that egg! I have decided to go on cd 12 and i have to leave either late arvo cd 14 or early cd 15. I am just so so hoping i o on day 14.. FX!! And it it does happen to be later i hope his little spermies are strong long living little buggers!!
I am going to get some opks and start testing a couple days after i finish clomid, thanku rufalina for that info on it possibly giving me false positives while i am still taking it. I must have tested too early last time.

Oh and m22 im not getting any bloods etc done, i did for my first round of clomid but the gyno didnt suggest it for this round. I just hope it all goes to plan!!

Hope it all works out for you REET. I had an ultrasound on the monday (CD12) & my Ob thought I would O on the Thursday, Friday latest. He told us to DTD Wed, Thurs, Fri. I left for Sydney on the Saturday but didn't end up O'ing till the following Wednesday! Luckily DH's little swimmers survived the journey lol
