    Clomid questions

Hi, I would like to hear if anybody has had success with clomid and how many cycles it took for a bubs to appear.
I've now takes 2 rounds of clomid and only started ttc on current cycle. First time I got my period when it was due and now I am 2 days late. I have been having cramps but no sign of AF. Mucus seems the same. I took a test 2 days ago but got negative. Maybe was too soon.
I was on the pill for 11 years after our 1st and stopped taking pill in December. My doc only put me on clomid to restart my period....in which it did and I had a good egg in first round.
If I'm pregnant can a test show positive a while later and still experience period like cramps????
Any replies will be very helpful.

    Hi Mellybell.

I've used Clomid twice (different occasions) when TTC. We conceived DS1 with the help of Clomid on my second cycle.
When TTC our third, I used Clomid for four cycles without conceiving - I ovulated all but the first cycle. I ended up going back to an acupuncturist/naturopath/TCM who helped us get our BFP. As you're probably aware, Clomid won't make you conceive, as such, its primary function is to bring on ovulation.

Re: your test, two days late could be too early to get an accurate result. And yes, you can get mild period-like cramping in the first few weeks of a pregnancy. It's disconcerting, but it's normal.

    Good luck

Thank you for all that. What did the other specailists do in helping you?? I could be jumping the gun with worrying myself at this early stage of ttc. When u want something badly the waiting makes you a bit stir crazy. Lol

    Hi,

I used clomid for both my kids! Fell first cycle with my daughter and 2nd cycle with my son. With my son, it didnt make me ovulate till day 21, instead of day 14, so the blood test at day 21 didnt show ovulation, but the bloodtest day 28 showed that I had ovulated!

The first time round (DS1) I was under the care of a fertility specialist, so had lots of blood tests to ensure ovulation and check hormone levels. I didn't require any other tests or other invasive testing. We TTC #3 for nearly 12 months (DS2 was a happy, unplanned pregnancy) so I went to my dr who referred me to a ObGyn. Unlike the FS, I only had a BT on day 21 - which wasn't helpful as often I didn't ovulate till day 21 ... so I'd use my wits and BBT to work out when I ovulated, and then I'd go get a BT seven days later. I felt quite unsupported by the ObGyn who initially diagnosed me with PCOS without a blood test, ultrasound or anything (other than irregular cycles, I don't have other PCOS symptoms). So after four cycles of Clomid I went the alternate route as mentioned, and conceived within three months.

Stir crazy is a good description. I vowed not to obsess about conceiving #3, but I found I couldn't help it.

I was extremely blessed and got pregnant on my first round of Chlomid.

I had shocking hot flushes etc, but not really any pg symptoms. Actually, the FS didn't think I was pregnant and already was talking about upping the Chlomid dose!

In retrospect, there was nausea but I'd put that down to the hot flushes and stress.

Thanks for all the replies, it has lifted my spirits hearing these positive feedback. I'm now 2 days late but not getting my hopes up, I've got a gut feeling that I didn't even ovulate this month.
I also get shocking hot flushes on the clomid and the past week I have been a pool of tears at times for no reason. Ha. The joys of wanting more children and being a woman.

Hi. I used clomid to conceive dd2. We were lucky enough to fall first cycle. I didn't have any changes to hint I was pregnant.

We fell first clomid round for both of our little ones. No early indicators of pregnancy for us either, but had the hot flushes which are a side effect of clomid. Good luck.

    Clomid questions

CD 15 - from this day onwards I had light cramping and bloating.
CD 23 -I had a blood taste in my mouth. Cramps were heavier now and felt exactly like AF.
CD 24 - I had what was implantation bleed
CD 24 - I then tested with a First Response test and got a line so faint I thought I was imagining things. It got progressively darker after that.

At the time my cycles were an average of about 26days.

I have my fingers crossed for you!
