TTC with PO and it's just frustrating!

    Hey everyone
I posted on here a few months ago and am still TTC. I have been told i have polycystic ovaries, not the syndrome though and hence my cycle is all over the place. My last cycle was 81 days and the one before that was 50 and so on. It's so hard to know when i am ovulating and so just have to basically have sex every second day for months at a time! Don't get me wrong, i enjoy the intimacy with my husband but hell, every 2nd day for 3 months at a time is a but much!
He also doesnt want things to start to feel 'mechanic' and 'scheduled' so that is sort of frustrating too as trying to keep it super sexy every second night is draining!

I have one of those 'maybe baby' telescopes and have been using that but i dont ever see ferns. I have just today bought an OPK online so hopefully that is going to help.

It took my sister a year to get pregnant and she keeps telling me that i should just keep at it and also gain a bit of weight as that will help. I dont understand why that would help. My BMI is 19.8 so i am within my healthy weight range... ?! My Dr said i dont need to gain weight, but then another Dr told me i should. I dont know!
Sorry for this little vent ... i am just in the dark about all this and VERY eager to get preg so it all seems overwhelming at times!
I hope you are all having more luck than me!

    Hey Yldn6e1,

First must say love the username

It can be vary hard TTC normally but even harder when there are not regular cycles etc.
I also have PCO but not PCOS, but in saying that I am lucky enough to have a pretty regular cycle.
    This is our 11month TTC.

As for the maybe baby, I do not find mine works all that well and gave up on using it, I then after purchasing it found a lot of people feel the same and even read that in one of the forums on here, wish I had seen it before I had wasted that money, but in saying that I do know other people who it has woked great for, I do find OPK's good but as with everything TTC they can become expensive..

I have not ever heard anything about gaining weight, as long as your within the healthy weight range it should not matter.

Have you spoken to your dr about your irregular cycles they may be able to put you on some medication to help or have you had blood test to check if you are ovulating etc??

The only other things I can suggest is maybe going down the path of seeing a naturopath, I take herbs from naturopath and have found since taking them that my EWCM etc is heaps better, and others on here have had great success with traditional chinese medicine and accupuncture as well.

All I can say is I understand your frustration and many others do to, TTC can be so hard and very hard to continue to keep the passion in DTD!! and it can get frustrating trying to DTD at the right time.

Have you thought about joining the TTC groups on here they have ones for 1-6mnth, 6-12mnths, 12mnths + and so on they can be a great support and great place to chat to other who are experiencing the same frustrations.

Best of luck with your TTC journey and I hope you get a BFP soon.

    Hi Snikkers1

    Thanks for replying!

It is really frustrating! I have seen my GP about irregular cycles and she sent me for an ultrasound. That showed that I have PO but also showed i had ovulated that month which was a good thing. I do ovulate, albeit every 60 days or so which is ANNOYING!

I have made an apt to go and see a gyno who hopefully will be able to shed some light on what i should do next. As in, should i keep trying or be put on chlomid or something like that.

I think that i stress out about all this and think that i am going to have a nightmare time TTC... It seems as though it really isnt as easy as you think. I am still flabbergasted when people say they got pregnant by 'accident'... hmm ... lucky them!

I have been using the OPK over the last few days and it says i am not ovulating at the moment...

I have thought about accupuncture and herbal medicine, but i think i will wait and see what this gyn has to say and then go from there.

    Thanks again for replying!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a BFP for the both of us!
