Sssooooo i finished my last clomid tablet today and went for a bt this morning, rang up to get my results the nurse says she has to chat with the other dr as my results are very strange..... i start to panic
So the nurse says its telling me that Tonite will be the optimum time for intercourse....
which is odd becasue you are only on CD6 and still taking the clomid.
they are going to ring me tomorrow but im paranoid that something gone wrong and its not working.
Is it possible for clomid to work that well that it has an effect almost instantaneously??
hope we havnt missed the boat. any other suggestions or anyone experienced this?
i had a sharp pain in my right ovary last night for about 20 secs and DH and i joked that mayb i just ovulated - now our jokes r not sounding so funny haha??....
ohh Are they going to scan you?? my ob scanned me at day 11, measured my eggs and the told me when to DTD, there is no harm in doing it now I don't think, ther is a week window period i think to dtd my ob always said do it tomorrow then 2 days after etc
not sure if they are going to scan me. i mite suggest it. i have another bt tomorrow but i rang them back today and they said they are not actually sure whats going on so i will have to wait for mt BT tomorrow and c what they say but I will suggest a scan then i think.
Good idea, it least they can see, if hte are unsure about bloods the mite, you may have too many follicles/eggs? which can be both good and bad. I always had 2 good ones so it can be ok... are you on 50mg?
yes on 50mg finished last tablet yesterday 4/7/11 on days 2-6. i really hope that it is working i was so so excited about finally starting the clomid and now i feel like ive wasted a month
but its easly days yet i spose i wont really know anything till tomorrow or even after that.
i thought i had a heap of ewcm but it could be some of DH lol TMI sorry but not sure.
Clomid works differently for everyone, so I guess it's possible that you O'd that early - but seems unlikely. Could have been an early estrogen surge perhaps? Hopefully the blood test and scan will reveal more. Good luck - keep us posted, and come hang out in the LTTC - Clomid thread too if you like.

Oh my how strange. Usually you will ovulate anywhere between 5-12 days of taking your LAST clomid tablet. I used to ovulate around CD18 so 12 days after. It will be interesting what is going on.

hi ladies, thought i would keep you updated on this one as im still lost and confused haha
bt results said that my lh is still high and that they think this may be becasue of my pcos and the clomid may not even be working..... so that put a dampner on things for me thats for sure.
have another bt on the 14th and that will be cd 16 for me. that should let me know if I o'd already or not. fingers crossed i did.
Weird thing is that i did an opk on cd6 which was positive then another on cd9 and the test line was much lighter then the control line, another opk on cd 11 and the test line is almost invisible. would this suggest that my lh has already peaked? which would be more accurate the bt or the opk (i know prolly the bt but can they conflic that much)?
OPK's are a no go when you have PCOS - your LH will almost always be elevated (from memory) and you'll get false positives
i think, unless they do a scan to check on follicle development, the only way they can tell you've o'd is to do a progesterone test about a week after you should ovulate
Oh dear... dont get your heart set on OPK's... Yes it will almost always be positive (and stuff you around.. the joys of PCOS) and also isnt the greatest idea when on clomid aswell. The clomid cycles I was on a blood test was taken on day 21 and thats it.
Not much you can do but DTD lots and relax. Fingers crossed for you!
agree- never used them after i learnt i had pcos because i always got a line.. grrrr. I think with pcos it is always better to dtd rather than not..you just never know.. Hope it clears up.. they should scan you i reckon
yeah that is strange to have opvulated that early but i guess it is possible..jsut go for it anyway cant hurt if you did ovulate then yay!!! if not no harm done by trying ......i am about to start taking it so keep me posted if it did work that fast
Before I started clomid I always got positives on OPK's but now im not getting them at all apart from that one i took on cd6 - but i also read somewhere that clomid can affect an opk too.
ive been getting feelings like pressure around my right ovary on some days too and i think thats promising but i spose I wont know until thursday. today is cd14.
they havnt even offered to scan me so i tink i will try and request it providing everything i want to ask doesnt fly out the window like it usually does haha
CD16 BT was today and my progesterone level is aparently 12?? im not sure what that means but according to the drs i havnt ovulated. another month a wqaste. really disheartened at the moment. i felt like i had a few signs saying that i have o'd like high soft and open cervix and a positive opk when all the other ones had been negative.
is it possible that if i o'd on cd14 a cd16 bt wouldnt pick up that i o'd because of it being so close?
also how much is a sperm analysis? the dr told dh it would be 385 and i thought that was a bit steep
why are you having so many blood tests?? CD16 isnt enough time to let the progesterone rise if you had just ovulated.
Usually blood tests (i think I said this up there^^) are taken on day 21 to see if you have ovulated or not. If they took a blood test the cycle I fell pregnant on day 16 they would be telling me I didnt ovulate either when i know i did on day 13. IYKWIM.
Is the doc your seeing a Fertility specialist because it sounds really strange all the blood tests. I went to Sydney IVF and the FS gave me a BT on day 21 to see if I ovulated, I didnt have a scan to look at folicles though.
Progesterone of 12 either indicates you havent ovulated yet, or you have really early on.
Without clomid I always ovulated on day 21 (having PCO) and with Clomid (50mg from day 2-5) I ovulated on day 17. I took it for 5 cycles. Different for everyone though, if you do regularly ovulate your ovulation will be closer to 3-5 days after your last tablet, my FS said to DTD from day 10 for us every 2 days until day 20 to over all bases. Hope this helps, how did you go this cycle? do you have any more results? If you are pregnant your progesterone will stay high, ie around 30 - 50 when your AF is due.
I also had BT only on day 21, and i always ovulated on day 18 (big O pains). I think my first cycle on clomid was a bit all over the place though. Can you request another BT for day 21? I don't see why they wouldn't let you.
And my DH had a semen analysis done last year and it cost nothing up-front and then we got a bill sent out for about $50. I don't know where your GP got $385! What state are you in?
