    Confused.. help please??

    Hi there,

Im new to this forum but am hopeing there may be able to someone to help me here.

Back in February i was away for a weekend and forgot to take my pill so AF arrived 1 week early but lasted for over 2 weeks (normally 5ish days) From that point DH and I decided to stop taking the pill & start trying for bub #2. My next AF arrived 28th March (about 4 weeks) after the previous AF should have started.
Because i have only just stopped taking the pill i have guessed that i have a 28 day cycle. I worked out when i would be ovulating and as we would like to try for a boy we had sex numerous times over these days. My AF is now 5 days late (going off 28 day cycle) i have tried 4 hpt's and they have all been a BFN.
I have been a little more tired than usual (my DD is only 7 mths so tiredness is anything unusual but) and i have been feeling a little nauseous. Apart from that no other obvious symptoms. I dont feel like i am pregnant, no hunch or gut feeling that i am. Last time i was pregnant i tested when i was 5 days late and got a BFP.

Im not sure what to do, do i just continue to wait for AF and if it still isnt here next week should i have a blood test or something??

    would appreciate any advice..

    TIA.

You could always try a home pregnancy test (from the supermarket or chemist) if you suspect you are pregnant. It's good to keep in mind though that after coming off the pill, your body might muck about a little before it settles into its own cycle. There are also other reasons that AF might be late, like being stressed, busy or unwell.

    All the best!

Thanks for the reply - i have actually used 4 hpt's - all showing BFN's.

I would imagine that a hpt would have shown up by now, being what you think is 2 weeks post ovulation...if it were me, I would sit tight...and if AF still didn't show after awhile, I guess I'd head to a doctor?

    Thanks again Nelle,

I think i would have shown a positive result by this stage too. I dont think i am, but until AF arrives i think i am still secretly holding out some hope.
Ill just wait a while and see what happens, my body is obviously trying to adjust itself. When i fell pregnant with my DD i had just come off the pill so fell straight away and was hoping it would be this easy again.

    Thanks!!

my AF was a 28 day cycle in the first month after i stopped taking the pill but was longer the second month & then longer again in the 3rd (but that was the cycle we were successful). if you've just come off the pill it may take some time for your body to readjust.

were you monitoring anything like CM or doing OPKs? those things might help you work out your cycle if you're not already checking them

i'd say sit tight & wait for AF but if it doesn't show up, you could go & check with your dr if that will help you put your mind at rest.

    hanks ladies,

AF arrived today - 6 days late. Im now confused how long my cycle is. I guess iwill just need to monitor it for a little while and use other tools to help me determine when im ovulating.
